Definately a phone call. A text message would indicate that the guy is too scared to call which isn't an attractive quality. Always show confidence.

but phone would better then text
cuz...u cant really convey much in a text and she might think that ur joking and get upset over it
cuz it happened to me once and i though he was kidding around but then the nex day i found out that he wasnt and the only result of the whole fiasco was that i was upset 4 a night

For the first date you should definately call. I think after the date if you have fun and want to go again text her that night and say "I had a great time can we do it again soon?" I think that is sweet.

For me, in person, it'll mean more to her. But, if I had to choose calling or text, it would be text, so I could hear him say it, with his own voice. Text, well, she might not believe text. She might think it's someone playing around and she'll say no even though she would want to say yes, she doesn't want to make a fool of herself if he doesn't like her. So, I would say call.
