If you attend UCSD and/or UCLA, could you tell me your academic records, i.e. GPA, SAT, ACT (if applicable), extracurricular activities. [and excluding the essay]

UCLA is a better school. I myself am applyingto USCD, UCLA, and Stanford for pre-med. However my SAT scores are low(1580) but I do have a backup and explantion for this. My weighted GPA is 4.12 and unweighted GPA 3.71 I passed 7 AP exams out of 11. I passed(AP Biology 5, AP Chem 5, AP Physics B 4,AP French Lang 4, AP Spanish lang 3, AP Spanish lit. 3, AP World History 3, AP US. History 3, AP Calculus AB 3) I did not pass AP English why is also why I did bad on SAT reading(480). I speak French fluently which makes spanish easy. Other then that oh yeah ACT composite 23(low, do to not studying). President of 2 clubs,French and European. No sports. I was in advanced Jazz Band my junior year, played the piano. I was a teacher's aide(one semester) and voulunteer a total of 130 hours. I worked my freshman year at my dad's restaurant as Bus boy for 6 months and Pantry chef for 3 months. I did 50 hours of community service. I also went to city college summer to take Intermediate Algebra and Spanish 3. I go to France every summer(12 times). So I hope that I can make it to UCLA. The only that sucks is low SAT, no sports, and maybe grades. Although I did some impressive stuff like taking German 7-8 junior year and got 2 B. I took AP Biology only one semester and still managed to get an A and a 5 on an AP Test. so hopefully I have backup. I got altogether 7 B times 2=14 B rest all A's.

:) Hey there. G'luck to you!

I'm a second year at UCLA at the moment, so I'm not sure my stats will still apply to you. I got into both UCSD and UCLA, but chose UCLA because of atmosphere. I'm also pre-med, majoring in BioChemistry (the major I put on all my apps).

UCSD is a college full of pre-meds (everyone and their dogs are majoring in Bio or the like), so you'll feel right at home. UCLA is mostly PoliSci and other Humanities classes (not that pre-med here is any less competitive). I also believe that UCLA is the only UC that offers Dentistry, if you care about that at all, and we do have the second best dorm food in the nation (we're all fatties here).

My GPA was a 4.37, #4 in my graduating class, ACT was 29, SAT was 1250 (this doesn't apply to you anymore if you took the new version of the SATs), and I only had a few ECs, namely a few clubs and volunteering at the hospital. I passed about 5 AP tests (which doesn't really matter really until you start siging up for classes).

Hope this helps! :D Go Bruins!
