I write poetry, and all day, I've been on here asking your advice about how to tell a really good guy friend that I like him...well, I was bored, and I actually managed to write this really beautiful poem, the best thing I've ever written...and yes, I did pretty much write it about him!!! <: So...would this be a good way to let him know? Too corny? I don't know how I'd do it...send it? Give it to him? The poem is about sending someone a letter, and so sending it would fit in really well, but I don't really know if it's a good idea...what is your opinion?

If he's a real good guy friend he should already know that you like him. I guess the question is whether there is any romantic spark in the relationship. The poem might help to find out how he feels and I can't see him getting offended unless you come on too strong and scare him away. If you think he shares your feelings, go for it!.

No, it is perfectly fine to send a poem to a guy. But you have to make sure that he is into you also or he might find it embarrassing.
But either way, you wont know until you try! I am the direct poet myself and it seems to get my mates attention and doesnt hurt his feelings in the end either. So, I say go for it!

Nope. It's not corney, it's dear.
I still have the book that I got on a third date with this woman back in 1993. I will never part with the book and I have been married to that girl for over 11 years.

If you want to open yourself up to this guy, go for it. No better way than to lay your heart on the line.
Here's my caution: will this guy take your poem seriously, or will he Google for the lyrics to some song to see if you're faking, or will he pass it by?
Guys are notoriously oblivious to grand romantic gestures. The direct approach is usually best. But you know him better than we do, so make a judgment.

I wouldn't, because if he doesn't like you back, then he might be a little scared. If he does like you then I'd give it to him then. It's not all that corny, just a little scary for someone if they don't have feelings for you.

well, I think that maybe if he doesn't feel the same, then you could be setting yourself up for embarrassment. i think you should talk to him first, face to face, and let him know how you feel. If he likes you too then I think you should definitely give him the poem.

any poetry, is both corny and romantic. Good poetry is less corny and more romantic.
Send it to him in a letter.

l don't think it corny at all l write poetry and sometimes l give them to girls who think it's corny. but so what. a poet has to express themself.

Sweetheart, how old are you?? 12 9 or 5 years old?? Cupcakes, men do not get turn on with their ears only with their eyes. Pumpkin, skip the poem and get busy with this guy. He knows you like him and save yourself the bs he will tell you about your "poem". Save it for your mom or other woman in you life, they will appreciated more than a man. So pumpkin, get busy with this guy before some other hottie takes your position and your stupid poem!
