It just seems to me that he is against homosexuality, but does that mean they can't go to heaven? I mean, premarital sex is supposed to be a mortal sin so that means that like 90% of the world will never get into heaven. But people dog on gays more than ho-ey people. Don't you think as long as you believe in God you can go to heaven? That's what forgiveness is for. Forgiving homosexuality, promiscuity, gluttony, selfishness, lying, stealing, cheating- all those things? someone back me up here

Jesus loves ALL of us. He has clear rules about what is right and wrong, and wants us to turn away from our sinful actions and follow Him and His Rules for our lives. You won't simply go to Hell because you are gay. As long as you believe that Jesus is the only Son of God, and that He died on the cross in your (or mine) place, and you want Him to be your Lord and Saviour, you are going to Heaven.

It Is Written In The Old Testament That Homosexuality Is An Abomination In The Sight Of God. So I Would Assume That It Is A Sin. Now If You Accept That Jesus Was Crucified As Payment For Sins, Then Why Couldn't Someone Go To Heaven. Regardless Of This Or Any Other "sin".

Gays, you, and I are going to arrive or better put, the consciousness of heaven will be revealed to us. One factor should be known, and that is that by no means can one sinful thought be present to be able to become conscious of heaven. Each person must part with all sin. This is our job here and hereafter. A gay persons love of sin may be deeply embedded, and so it would take him longer to become free from this bondage, especially if he does not recognize what sin is or where it resides and how it feeds off the human mind. It is nice that God will forgive us, but He will not let sin go unpunished. That is law. His forgiveness comes when we have extracted all sin from thought and there is nothing left to suffer from or be punished for. Merely believing in God will not get you "into" heaven. There is work to do. Why do you think we are here now?

Let's get one thing straight, homosexuality is not a sin in and of itself, There are many places in the bible which infer that Jesus was gay. See link below. Jesus just didn't have sex, or at least not any that is mentioned in the bible.

“The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals, and 362 to heterosexuals. This doesn't mean God doesn't love heterosexuals, it's just that they need more supervision.”
~ Lynn Lavner, a lesbian comic

Why are the fundamentalists so lax about avoiding clear sins like gathering firewood and so ardent in prosecuting a questionable one — homosexuality. I am tempted to think they are the bad guys — the wolves in sheep's clothing Jesus warned about in Matthew 7:15

Surely I'm not the first person to notice the Biblical verse:

“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.”
~ Ezekiel 16:49
So sodomy is not homosexuality after all as the religious right have been telling us. The bible defines it explicitly as something that sounds suspiciously like modern Kristian Republicanism i.e. a combination of four elements:

pride
gluttonous wealth
idle wealth
heedlessness to the plight of the poor

So fundamentalists have been lying to us about their own bible, in order to excuse their scapegoating homosexuals and excuse their own true sodomy.

Further, when I read the story of Lot for myself in Genesis 19, I found the anal rape interpretation absurd, based on a middle English pun on the word know.

The much older Qur'an retells the same story with no rape, just xenophobia.

Check out Revelation 14:3-4 where it says the only ones who will make it to heaven are 144,000 male virgins. The only virgins you will find in our day are under puberty or are gay.

“And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.”
~ Revelation 14:3-4

In that verse it indicates that only 144,000 will go to heaven, that's a lot less than 10% of the world. The bible doesn't state anywhere that any others will ascend to heaven. Therefore this life is all you have. For the bible says in Romans 16:12

"For the wages of sin is death"

It does not say you go to hell or any other place. Genesis 3:19 explains it clearly:

"By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return."

Yes, you should live as a good person and strive to be Godlike, but your reward is in this life and not in heaven or the afterlife. Sins are forgiven, and you must be truly repentant for them to be so.

God does forgive homosexuality if the person repents. It's the same for all sinners. Each one must repent. All sin, no matter how big or small keeps us from heaven, unless we are given eternal life, which we receive when we are born again, born of the Spirit of God. That's when we receive eternal life. We still will sin even after we get born again, but it will be less and less.

Going to heaven is really all about where the heart is. If we are his and our heart belongs to him, then he will change our desires to be more like his. If a homosexual gives Jesus his heart, then he will go to heaven. And that's the truth!!!

Jesus said "if you love me, obey my commandments." Simple concept, no? Homosexuality is no more a sin than adultery or pre marital sex, but they all ARE sins. It is not that God does not love people who excercise homosexual lusts; because that is what homosexuality is, a form of lust; it is just that God cannot be in the presence of sin, and sin is rebelling against God's commands. God created Adam and Eve, and he created sex to be used within the bonds of marriage. Now, it seems unfair to say don't do this and don't do that, but think about it. If EVERYONE obeyed these rules, there would be no AIDS, STD's, cheating spouse, etc...every one of God's rules is for a reason. Similar to a parent telling the 2 year old not to touch the burner, repeatedly. Eventually, if they keep disobeying you, they'll get burned, and it's not your fault right?

Gay people can go to heaven. We are all sinners, and unless we're saved and ask for forgivness, no one can go regardless of sexual preference. But, I think that usually, if a gay person were to get saved, then they would stop being that way after they read that it was wrong. Some people don't believe that those people should be witnessed to, but I know that's wrong, too. God told us to go and tell ALL PEOPLE about His son, not just the straight people.

Who said gays don't go to heaven? Was it God? If not, then whoever said it is sinning by saying it,. for only God knows to whom God will extend the grace.
For no-one deserves to go to heaven, no human can ever deserve it. We have access to forgiveness by recognizing the sins we participate in, deciding to change, asking for help in changing....but the process is uniquely incomplete for everyone, which is why the only righteousness that anyone should be focused on is their own - - - you can't get your own any closer to done when you are focused on someone else's. But no-one gets done.....no one gets to perfection, and even if they did, as long as they live, each moment is fulled with temptations......

I agree with you! However, we must also repent of our sin meaning to turn away from the sinful behavior. So for all of us that have had premarital sex we are to abstain from that behavior. Likewise, gluttony, lying, etc. SO, if the homosexual is to truly repent of his/her sin s/he will stop having homosexual sex or for that matter any sex outside of marriage. We are obviously all sinners, so we just need to keep trying to remove the sinful behavior (repenting) and asking God for forgiveness. I try to remember though that God does know what is in my heart, so I cannot pretend to repent of something that I have absolutely no intention of doing.

I don't think that we go to heaven.
but every one sins.
I think people try and pick things out as if one is way worse then the next but a sin is a sin. We were all born of sin.
The idea is truly trying to repent when we sin.
I no that I sin every day when I don't respect the head ship..I do this more then what I would like but I do try and change. I hope that what God sees is that I am trying to change.

Everyone sins and yet God DOES love everyone and we CAN all go to heaven... IF we repent. That's the thing that separates the heavenbound from the hellbound.
Forgiveness doesn't mean that you can go on sinning. Slipups will happen, but you've got to dedicate your life to Christ and make an honest attempt to live and grow in Him. A lot of people can't handle that. They'd rather live the way that's more comfortable, that puts them in the driver's seat. That's fine. But those people shouldn't expect God to welcome them to heaven when they die. They've simply chosen not to go there, and God can't make the decision for them.
