They believe man rather than God. Jesus himself said that the gate is wide broad is the way that leads to destruction and many will find it, but the gate is narrow and straight is the way that leads to eternal life and few will find it.
What you see in modern Christianity is evidence of the apostasy. They even have the odasity to label those beliefs that claim it matters and there is only one true faith a cult.
Ephesians 4:4,5,6, is plain there is only one church, one faith, one God, one baptism, but how many does man say there is. Last time I was in school one meant one.

The popular belief is that you confess Jesus and your ticket to heaven is done. However, Jesus told us to repent and I don't think he meant just a little bit would be OK. He warned us of sin and told us the wage of sin as well. He also told us heaven is at hand, but I don't see it. Maybe I still have some work to do here and now. Many people want Christianity to fit like a nice coat, but in truth, we must fit ourselves into Christianity, for it is already established

I don't think that a lot of people think that EVERYONE is going to heaven. I'm sure that someone who believes in heaven wouldn't think to see Stalin in whatever holy place they think they go to after they die--the "good" place. It's just, there has to be more to life. People don't want to believe that life just ends after you die, that's too sad...Questions arise like: What am I worshipping god for? Why am I here?...Heaven answers these questions. A person worships whatever higher being to decide whether they go to the good, bright place of heaven..or the dark, firey pits of hell.
Death gives meaning to life. Religion says that sins will put you in hell and following the bible will get you into heaven...Heaven and hell gives people a reason to be "good" and moral in life.
Hope that..um..helps?

Many people don't read or believe in the bible so it really doesn't matter to them what it says in the bible.

>>Is it just something people want to think to make them feel good?<<
Yes. That is a lot less scary than what Jesus really said, which is that the many enter by the gate that is wide and leads to destruction, and that the few enter by the gate that is narrow and leads to life. (Matthew 7:13, 14)

I think it is just people trying to be nice to others. I certainly do not believe everyone will go to heaven.

I agree with you....
That is why one must search the scriptures to find truth...and not just look one thing up to try and prove there correct or incorrect. But look at it all with the mind set that you are trying to see what Gods words really states.

I dont believe everybody is going to heaven but I dont believe anybody can say who is or isnt. If you truely accept jesus as your savior and know he forgives your sins then you will go to heaven

Since Saul began subverting the Christians, the deceivers have refined their technique, and gotten amazingly good at their work.

They are fools , they have not read or heard the word ,
You must love GOD with ALL your heart , you must have no other gods before you , you must love your neighbor as yourself and have NO hate in your heart only the love and salvation of JESUS before you will ever enter the GATES of HEAVEN.
