Excellent chance that they will.
Show up early in the morning during the week (not Friday or weekend) at the police station and ask. It is better to get it dealt with than living always looking over your shoulder. If you show up early enough you will probably get to bail court and be released (depending on the type of warrant) the same day and not spend the night in jail. Sometimes (here in Canada) warrants are "endorsed" on the back by the judge and the officer in charge of the station can release you right there on a promise to appear.

There is no way that they would EVER send someone to arrest you because they would NEVER tell you over the phone. I work at a police department, and we can not provide that information over the phone. We have no way to verify if it is really you. What if it is your work calling, or an ex..?? We would be legally responsible if we provided the wrong person with that information. Unfortunately, you have to check in person. And, then yes...you are arrested. And, the DA or courts will not tell you either. If it is a misdmeanor you will most likely be cited and given a court date. You would only be taken in to custody if it was a felony charge.

It kind of depends. If you call the sheriff's department where you are from and the warrant is bad enough charge, the might send someone by to get you. Chances are, if it was a big enough charge that you had a warrant out for, they would have already sent somebody by a couple of times to knock on your door to see if you are home.

You didn't say how they now where you are. If you called on a prepaid cell phone, and kept moving in an area you don't normally hang around, they wouldn't know where to look. That said, if you call from home, the nearest officer would probably be sent to pick you up.

If your charge is a misdemeanor, and you live in an urban area, they may not have the time or manpower to come get you. But if you live in a small town or rural area, the local sheriff's dept. would love to come get you - even for a misdemeanor charge. If it's a felony - well, then, they'll come arrest you if they know where you are.

I can tell you in the jurisdiction where I work, someone most likely would not be sent to pick you up, unless its something serious. We are entirely to busy and this would be construed as a waste of time. Better to come down and turn yourself in and get it off your chest.
