The parents are doing the RIGHT THING -- if you hadn't done something really infantile and stupid in the first place, then they wouldn't have to WORRY if you are going to live another day or not!

You may not be a criminal, but if you're drawn to steal narcotics, you may have a dependency problem in the works. Try whatever help you can get through the intervention. Go to a couple of Drug-Users Anonymous meetings. (If you don't know where they are in your area call AA). Going to some meetings won't be horrible like you think. You're not saying you're an addict, but be honest. You stole some drugs. It's your chance to look at that behavior and where it could lead you. Ask yourself, what would have happened if you hadn't been caught......this time.
P.S. You sound like you're feeling pretty sorry for yourself. Put yourself in your parent's shoes. Their child stole from them, what a terrible breach of trust. And, she stole drugs. I'd say the people who need support are your parents. Are you mature enough to try to re-build their trust and address your problem? That's how you feel better about yourself. Then again, you can say to yourself, I stole from my folks, I stole drugs, poor poor me.

Honey, drugs are dangerous. I know right now it seems as if they are being unfair, but they are only looking out for you. They love you, and don't want to see your life destroyed. If you keep using you could end up addicted, on the streets, or dead. I have a friend that started using occasionally when he was 16, by the time he was 30 he was found dead in a back alley in San Juan. Don't go there. Please, take the help your parents are offering you.

Try to turn around your thinking. Instead of looking at it as though they are against you, think of it as if they are fearful for your future because they love you, & care about you deeply.

Is it possible that the feelings of guilt you have about being a criminal are comming from inside of you instead of the way they are treating you?

Trust that they love you, & want what's best for you, & listen to what they are saying.

Parents tend to over-react and that's just because they love their children so much and want to make sure nothing bad happens to them. Just let it blow over and don't steal any more of their meds. But, if you really do have a drug problem you should ask them to get you help, it'd really be for the best.

You do need the help if its happened before and your addicted. You can tell them this is your first time but only if it truly is. Dont lie, that only makes things worse. If you do have a problem (and you know if you do) get help as soon as you can.

You stole, but don't want to be treated like a criminal? Please. Go get the help they are offering you. Your positive reinforcement will come when you have better control over yourself, and that comes with sobriety and recovery.

You will have to prove yourself to your parents. It may take a little time, but it will be worth it to have their trust again. Hope you learned from this.
