I posed this as part of an answer for another question, but I think it's worth posting here.

People call Evolution a theory.

Atomic theory is a theory as well. Science doesn't create "laws" today... we deal with theories.

So, Evolution shouldn't be believed because it is "just a theory"... Ok.

You're sitting next to a nuclear bomb. Atomic "theory" predicts that sufficient fissionable material, compressed, will cause a nuclear explosion. It's a "theory", and NOT a law.

You have a telephone beside you. It can dial only two numbers, and is pre-programmed. You can make only one call.

The first number is to a nuclear scientist who has a "theory" of how to stop the bomb.

The second number is to a famed and trusted "prayer warrior".

Who do you call?

That's simple - the nuclear scientist, of course. I have plenty of things that I want to achieve in life, so I want that bomb defused. I also want to use wisely the time available to me, in order to save other people that may be killed by the blast, or fallout (or does your ludicrous hypothetical situation have me in the middle of the Western Australian desert, miles from anyone?).
