I'm having pain in my right side when I urinate. It's like a sharp buring pain when I go pee. I'm also having a dull pain in my right side, (about the middle between my belly button and lower pelvis) when I am not peeing. I am not having burning around where the pee comes out. Could you tell me what this may be?

You could have some small kidney stones that are working their way down to your bladder and when you urinate more urine is pushing them down the ureter trying to reach the bladder. Their movement could be causing your pain. You really should have a doctor check it out, though.

One other thought: could you be pregnant? Between my two sons, I had an ectopic pregnancy that presented alot like kidney stones. The pain got so intense that I would hit my knees. I was within 30 minutes of hemorrhaging before I went to my OB/GYN. Go to the doctor, just to be safe.

It sounds just like kidney stones to me. They can get quite painful if left untreated but you will pass them in a few days with or without medication. If it is kidney stones, they would give you pain meds and perhaps antibiotics.

I know, I have had many over the past 23 years due to 16 cancer operations. I would go to the doctor or emergency room as soon as I could.

I agree with the other two about it is probobly kidney stones. I had k.stones a few months ago and it felts the same way. drink tons of water and try to pee as often as possible. also a heatin pad on the stomach area where it hurts is often helpful. good luck.
