For me, I got one on my lower back and it is about 4 to 5 inches long and 4 to 5 inches wide of a tribal tiger in flames. Also, it there was a lot of shading. Took 3 hours and hurt like a mutha, but still want anotha. If you could, explain what yours is... :)... big, small, shading, etc.

I have quite a few tattoos
Definately the places that hurt the most, from my experience, are the ribs and underside of the arm/arm pit.
Tattooing is Art, Art is an expression on Oneself

I have 2 tattoo's and currently planning a third one. My third one will be that of my 1 year old daughter's name. I'm so excited about getting the third one. My first tattoo is on my upper righ arm and shows a burning cross wrapped in chains. My second tattoo is just chinense letters on my inner right ankle. All my tattoo's hold very special moments in my life and I am proud of my tattoo's (though I don't display them often). My biggest challenge with my third tattoo is deciding where to put it :-/ Hopefully I'll figure it out when I'm ready to get it done. I can't wait :-)

The one on my arm hurt the most when they were outlining it. It also took the longest and then they had to color in the flames and chains. My arm did become numb after a while and at that point, I was just ready to get it over with. The one on my ankle hurt too because it was right on the bone, but it didn't take long for them to do. Just two black chinese letters was easy compared to the one on my arm.

I only have one tattoo..it's on my lower back..it's a yellow submarine from the Beatles album...it is about 5 inches long and 3 inches wide...the outline of it hurt the most, the coloring wasn't bad at all!! I do plan on getting two other tattoos after my wedding in June 2007..one will be on each of my shoulder blades and they will footprints of my son and daughter the day they were born...will also put their first initial along with it somehow. (so that I can tell the difference between them:)

I have 3, one on the side of my lower back (a leopard-print heart), one on my belly (a little African tribal sun meaning "child of God"), and one on my foot (a realistic-looking butterfly). The most painful area for me was probably the lowest parts of the one on my lower back. The higher parts, around the kidney area, didn't really hurt at all, but the part that touched the back of my hipbone made me curl my toes and grit my teeth.

I have 5; 1 on my left shoulder, 1 on my left breast, 1 on my back right shoulder, 1 on my hip and 1 right above my ankle. The one on my hip has the most color and shading and is the largest but the one above my ankle hurt the most. None of the rest of them really bothered me when I got them.
