It seems that whenever I drink any alcohol, even a very small amount, I soon start to feel vaguely ill. Can anyone tell me the reason for this?

A friend of mine has the beginning of a stomach ulcer from taking too much ibuprofen, she had it checked out because whenever she had just one or two glasses of wine she would get sick.

A small percentage of people (more so Asians) lack an enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenase. This enzyme breaks down one of the biproducts that alcohol produces in the body. Without this enzyme the biproduct (an aldehyde) builds up in your body and makes you feel sick. This is not an allergic reaction. You could on the otherhand be allergic to certain products in beverages, like sulfites in wines. Hope that helps.

You may be allergic to alcohol. I am, and slightly sick is just the beginning for me. Half a beer and I am sick as hell for 3 days. This explains why I never drink, and have not for more than 40 years. I see it as a blessing. While others have been buying rounds, I have bought a nice boat, a comfortable home and a beach side cabin.

I don't know if you're on medications but certain ones mixed with alcohol can make you sick. From a person note, I hate the taste of alcohol and tend to find that it has less and less flavor the more I drink.

a real hypersensitivity to alcohol is uncommon, and you're able to have found out the 1st time you drank. Your physique differences throughout being pregnant, and your tolerance and flavor for alcohol probable have been given affected. it isn't any longer a bad factor - no would desire to be irritating. do merely no longer drink and you would be ok. in case you experience ill for the different reason you're able to get a checkup just to be sure you're general ok.

You might be allergic to it and it affects your body negatively. If you don't like it, I would just stop drinking it.
