Looking to replace my Trutech recorder that died after a couple months. This DVD recorder seems like a good unit. Just wondered if it can play divx videos.

I own one, and the answer is no. DivX capability isn't a particularly common feature in DVD players, much less DVD recorders.

I also own a Samsung DVD-R135 recorder that does have DivX playback; it's primarily an upconverting player for HDTV's, so it might be a bit too much bang for your buck--I'm sure there are similar models that don't have HDMI and upconversion that might suit you just fine.
