I have 3 boys and 1 girl. I would say in the end it ALL evens out.

However, what my boys want is NEVER cheep. They want the expensive XBOX 360, I spent more on my boys this Christmas than I did my daughter.

in the long run you would think that it would be more expensive to raise a girl. The puberty things Bras, Menstral things, birth controll, and possibly a baby. It would matter on how you raise your boy. If you have him go do sport s you would have the occasional buying shoes and stuff. But he would mostly be active. If you have a stay at home computer boy. Well he might want the expensive new gadgets

I have 2 boys and definitely I would say it is more cost effective to raise boys. There is a lot more merchandise and other things available to buy for girls.

Well there are waaaaaay more clothing options for girls, but in the merchandise area of things, boys have waaaaay more to choose from. My son is 2, and since birth we have probably spent about 120,000 on him. Im not kidding, but then I do spoil. You could get away 10,000 for 2 years if you were a thrifty shopper.

I have two boys and one girl. Its not the sex of the child that determines the amount of money, but the age. A boy at 5 takes just as much food and water as a girl at 5; but the teenager, will eat you our of house and home. Besides, what you get is what you get. Pray for health!

I think that it is cheaper to raise a girl than a boy. I know that my daughter loves clothes and purses, but there are a ton of stores that sell inexpensive womens clothing, but none that sell mens clothing at good prices. My son loves video games too, and they cost a ton. His shoes are double what hers cost.

i hate to say it, but as a mother of two girls and a step mother of a boy and a girl. it is cheaper not to have any... sorry but it had to be said. with that out of the way i would say boys are cheaper when they are young, but remember the bigger the boy the more expensive the toy. oh and at the age of what 15 (?) make them get a J.O.B.

It is more expensive without a shadow of a doubt to raise a girl!! My son is so laid back and cool like that. On the other hand, my daughter is a diva. Her belt, shoes, and purses must match. Not to mention, she's only 8 and stays on top of the fashion industry.
