I believe in my own self worth.
I believe that no being should bow, scrape or beg before another being.
I believe that each person is their own salvation.
I believe in living life at full throttle and to the best of my abilities.
I believe the only thing that really limits me is my own doubt.
How is that for a start.

Most atheists believe in the physical reality of science - the things they can see, touch, and smell. Why do they need to believe that there exists something that they can have no physical knowledge of?

They believe that goodness and mercy are their own rewards, and they don't need to invent a magical land far far away where they get rewarded for stuff they ought to do anyway.
Whereas church people have the "What's in it for me" attitude, and they are intent on seeking personal reward without personal responsibility. In addition to their magical land, church people have created a place of torment and suffering for all who disagree with them.
Church people cannot separate wishful thinking from responsible thinking.

They just believe we are alone in this life, pretty much. Though, there are some spiritual atheists, some of whom believe in forces beyond our comprehension.

I believe in anything for which there is evidence. There is no good reason to believe in anything without evidence.

Yet they have taken beside Him gods, who create nothing but are themselves created, and who have no power to harm or benefit themselves, nor have they any power over death or life or Resurrection.

That I'm alone with regards to my own life. I make the decisons, not some imaginary sky-pixie.
The people who feel they need some invisible friend to guide them are the ones I feel sorry for...
