I think that we have so many religions today and all of them think that they are "the one" or that they are going to go to heaven or hell. but with this that wouldn't be so because narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it. So not many people are really serving God in a way that is acceptable to him...

Things approved by the most voices turn out to be a lot of noices. That is a paraphrase from Shelley. Follow the crowd and you will be like a lemming going off the cliff into the sea. Spirituality is a private matter worked out in your own soul and there the gate is narrow with only enough room for you to go through. If you follow others to find the truth you may well find you have a lot of company but Walmarts for the soul though large, turn out to be rather lonely and empty places.

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
Matthew 7:13-14 KJV

It's too easy to go along with everyone else in the world, following the wordly path of sin. But the path that leads to everlasting life, is often untraveled because it is more difficult. Although the rewards ARE greater.

I tmeans that the narrow gate leads to heaven and is followed by only few as it looks like a harder narrower road. The road to hell is wide and easy to follow.

This means that the road that society, your peers, and the main stream press sets you on leads to destruction. Everyone seems to tell you that the road to enlightenment is something that should be simple and easy, while in fact, it requires patience, work and discipline.
If we follow what comes natural then we are sure to be on the wrong path.

The road to heaven is harder to follow than the easy, sinful road to hell.
