Good question! And one of the reasons I am no longer Christian.
Matters like this made me questoin the entire Christian paradigm and discard it in favor of beliefs that score higher in reasonableness and compassion.

Okay, forget all the heaven myths of 'pearly gates', 'streets of gold', etc. Heaven is when your spirit is in continuous contact with YHVH, the source of all love and life, and it can happen before you die, in which case your mind and body become eternal also. Perhaps there are people who have gone thru a process that puts their spirits into a kind of stasis when they die, waiting for the Second Coming, when their spirits will enter heaven and their minds and bodies will be recreated. Those whose spirits do not connect to YHVH have their minds and bodies destroyed, and after a certain amount of learning, they create another body and generate another mind, reincarnating into another life.

An earlier answer says they shall be forgotten, I think I read this somewhere once upon a time too. I think that would be even worse than knowing they are burning for eternity. How can they stand knowing they will forget their loved ones? That's one of the most disturbing things I've ever heard. They made their choice and are burning for eternity and forgotten by me? What kind of religion is this?

This is a difficult question to answer. In fact, on this side of eternity, we do not have all the wisdom and insight we need to fully answer it. But there are some scriptural considerations that help us keep this question in perspective.
God Himself has promised that He will take away all pain and remove all our tears (Rev 21:4). It is in His hands. We can rest assured that God has the power and ability to do as He has promised. It is a fact that we will be happy in heaven. God has promised it.

Hell is generally thought of as a place of punishment for sin. Concerning sin and its effect, the Bible says: "Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned." (Romans 5:12) The Scriptures also state: "The wages sin pays is death." (Romans 6:23) Since the punishment for sin is death, the fundamental question in determining the true nature of hell is: What happens to us when we die?
Psalm 146:4 says: "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish." When a person dies, his impersonal spirit does not go on existing in another realm as a spirit creature. It "returns to the true God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7) What, then, is the condition of the dead? When pronouncing sentence upon Adam, Jehovah stated: "Dust you are and to dust you will return." (Genesis 3:19)

One of the reasons I left Christianity. How can I enjoy myself in Heaven, when I know my loved ones are in Hell?
Honestly, I'd rather be in Hell with them, than in Heaven without them.
Now I don't believe in Hell, though, so no problems. :)

Good question! The God I serve won't burn people through out eternity as Satan would have us believe. The wicked will be burned up, be "ashes under our feet," will "consume away." That is what the Bible teaches anyway. For more on this go to www.bibleuniverse.com

The people that I care about that are burning in hell had their chance and made their choice. I am sorry for them, but I cannot make their mind up for them.

God says there will be no tears in Heaven, that He will wipe away all our tears. So you may start out crying over loved ones, but after God wipes the tears, the sadness will stop. That is why we try to cram our religion down your throats.
