I've know churches that vote between two or three men. They can also vote that pastor out if they want. Where is this in the Bible?

Yes, it is Biblical. The early churches were all independent groups that met in homes. Their only connection with each other was by letters (like those that make up the New Testament) and visits by leaders and members from other places.

Paul taught in Timothy, and Titus, of the method of choosing, and the qualifications, of pastors and other church leaders. He also told Timothy (a pastor) and those listening, not to be too quick to "lay hands" on a new believer.

That is, don't be too hasty to 'vote him in', and give him the pastoral responsibility before he was mature enough to handle it.

He would not have needed to give this teaching, if the churches were not having to make these decisions.

Voting in a pastor is something that started during the reformation. It was a reaction to the abuse of power and the nepotism that was prevelant in the Catholic church. However it is not something that has a biblical model. There are no descriptions of voting for leaders in the New Testament church. Leaders were appointed by Leaders.

I believe that churches should vote on a pastor. My church has always done this and we have never had a problem.

Of course it is Biblical.

"Therefore it is necessary to CHOOSE one of the men who have been with us the whole time...... So they PROPOSED two men....... Then they CAST LOTS, and the lot fell to Matthias, so he was added to the eleven apostles" Acts 1:21-26

"Brothers, CHOOSE seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word. This proposal pleased the whole group. They CHOSE Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit." Acts 6

So apparently it is Biblical to assemble, debate and chose a minister, not for one to just come along and forcefully install himself into the ministry.

I dont believe it is Biblical....

Leaders are appointed of G-d. If this person is called to lead that flock, it should be done. if theres a few people "bidding" for the job, they should settle it amongst themselves. That is Biblical.
