Mine was 12x12 and was considered average.

I would contact the Student Life and Housing office at the college. They'll usually give you the demensions and sometimes send you a plan of the actual room.

Always small, and usually designed so that if it is a double room, each student "owns" one side of the room, with a bed, desk, chair, shelf, bulletin board, and closet with dresser drawers on each side of the room. There could be as little as three or four feet of empty space between the beds.

I had a single and it was 8 x 10 exactly
then I got a double ( two people per room, but it was ll for me) it was 10 x 12
and that included two beds, two desks, two standing closets, and two half book case, and not much room

I think 12 x 14 is average.
It depends how old the dorm is!
