The coins you have were from French Indo-China, a federation of protectorates and one directly ruled colony in Southeast Asia, part of the French colonial empire. It consisted of Cochin China (directly-ruled colony), Tonkin, Annam (all of which now form Vietnam), Laos, and Cambodia (protectorates). On the coins, silver ones, you will find the French words "titre" and "poids". Ok, I'm not French, but I'll read them from the point of a coin collector. Titre refers to the silver fineness, and poids refers to the weight. For example, on a 1 piastre silver coin from 1895-1928 ("piastre de commerce"), you will find on it "Titre 0.900. Poids 27 Gr".

If you have 15lbs of Indo-China coins, which is roughly 6.8kgs, then that's great~! One warning though. There're lots of imitation Indo-China coins out there, especially the larger size piastres. So depends on where you got your coins from.
