Do what you want to do. A doctor makes a lot more money than a cop but if you aren't going to enjoy being a doctor become a cop. You've gotta have a job that you love to do not what others want you to do.

If your mom told you to jump off a bridge would you do that too? Do whatever is best for you. If you want to be a cop, then be a cop. In the long run your mom will understand because it is whatever makes you happy, not her. You have to live with your decisions.

Do what you want to do, tell her you'll still be saving lives as a cop, though I hear the pay isn't nearly as good as a doctor's is, follow your heart.

Its your life. Be a cop if its going to make you happy. She's not going to be the one doing it for 30+ years and paying your bills

Only you know what will make you happy inside. Its nice to have advice from others but you should always follow your dreams. Your mom may not like the decision that you make but its important that you make your own decisions and know that for as long as you live you will never impress everyone

Do what you want to do. My mother always wanted to be a dental hygenist and her mom wanted her to be a receptionist. She was never into it and ended up dropping out of college and marrying my dad. Shes now not a receptionist or a hygenist, but think about the money that was wasted for her to go to school to become something she never wanted to be.
Do what you want to do. You're the one that has to go to that job everyday not your mom, so you should do something that you're going to enjoy.

well, a tough decision. usually mom's are always right...but being a police dispatcher and marrying an officer...you can guess what I think. Good Luck!!!
