Steve Austin was fitted with the highest bionic technology of the day. Keep in mind $6mil in the mid 1970s was probably the same as $30-$40 mil today. His bionics were designed to make him "better, stronger, faster". So when they designed his bionics, I'm sure that they took things like that into consideration.
