check this stuff out! it's really cool, but not very cheap. You've probably seen the commericals for the sports versions, but they have Star Wars stuff too. Now all they need are some vehicles, scaled down of course.

I wouldn't put anything permanent on the walls. Even if it can be painted over, if and when you leave, do you really want to have to paint in addition to all of the other things you'll have to do?
My nephew has a Star Wars room. My brother in law got some SW posters at Walmart and bought the poster frames at JoAnn Fabrics. If you do that, you can take them with you when you go and also can put new posters in when you change the theme (which I always seem to be doing with my kids).
Also, I don't know how old he is, but glow in the dark stars would be great for the ceiling and could be easily removed.
I haven't used it, but I think they sell glow in the dark paint. What about stenciling something from the movie on the walls as a border around the ceiling (like "may the force be with you" or some silly thing like that)? Or you could just do it in regular paint.
Good luck--sounds like a fun project!

If it is in your budget, buy some figures of star ships and whatever else they sell and hang them from the ceiling with fishing line and thumb tacks. My son is all military and we are going to do that with different era war planes. Good luck.

They make "glow in the dark" stars (you can get them at Wal-mart) to put on the ceiling. You could get a couple wire coat hangers and make a mobile using "Star Wars" spaceships, or planets.
