I have the same problem and a dentist once told me it might have something to do with my feet and the way I walk. I was very surprised as to how this two things could be connected, I saw a specialist and he gave me special shoes ( well not really shoes but the stuff that goes inside the shoes, sorry but I don't know the word in english, I hope you understand what I mean.)which are helping me a lot, the pain has decreased a lot. You could try it along with the night guard.

Try going to a chiropractor. I have a friend with the same problem. She tried her dentist, then went to the chiropractor. It helped her. Do it soon before you ruin your teeth!!
