Breath control, focus and concentration on intonation. Some people just have a "bad ear" but that doesn't mean they can't get better. Practice scales, vocal warm-ups and do breath control exercises. Practice humming in tune too; this will also help to develop your pitch ...believe it or not..... Good luck!!

If you want to become a better singer, improve your singing voice and are considering an online course I strongly recommend this site:

http://howtosing.toptips.org

I am big fan of this online singing course. You can watch a video more times until you can grasp each concept. Even if the program runs on a 10-day period, you can spend more or less, depending on your own pace. All the guides and tools included in this program are designed by professionals. This means you will learn transitions, changes and voice modification techniques like a pro! It comes with a plethora of exercises, allowing you to improve any aspect of your voice.

It definitely the best alternative to expensive lessons with vocal coaches. Try it and you'll see great results!

If you play an instrument sing along to your own music when playing an instrument you are already attuned to your instrument on the inside so let it naturally flow and spill from your soul.
If you do not play an instrument practice with the music at a lower volume so it does not cover your mistakes and you can hear how YOU sound not the artist that you are imitating. Also support and opening your throat as if saying "ahh" will help your tone and pitch but above all Practice, Practice, Practice

The only way to improve pitch is to work on it. Work with a pitch pipe or piano and constantly hit different pitches and work on matching them. Then work on taking a pitch and jumping up a 3rd or 5th, creating runs. Check at the end of the run to see how well you stayed on key.

Practise is the only way to keep in shape.

first do not use the word "improve".
You don't have "right" pitch because You don't know the sound of the pitch

You have to stand be side a TUNED piano play "the tone" of Your chioice close to the level of Your voice range.( play it,listen it for several time after a while start imitating "the tone" and the most important INTERNALIZED the sound, the pitch, the tone

MAKE IT YOURS ,OR PART OF YOUR ENTITY.

after that try an interval.....

Go to the forums at SingersConnect.net and you can ask questions like this to be answered by associates of a famous vocal instructor in nashville, he trained keith urban. they also have a free tips and advice section.

P.S - NEVER EVER listen to classically trained instructors or people with a 4-year degree in voice because most of the teachers are classically trained and their methods are very obsolete!

practice different pieces, do various scales and drills that help improve your pitch and then of course open your mouth tall so that you project.
