Don't leave bills! everyone knows that the tooth fairy leaves coins, you can put it in a small fabric hand made bag with glitter in and out and a bit on the pillow...My son loves it. He says the tooth fairy left some of her magic dust for him and tries to do magic tricks. this started 2 1/2 yrs ago and is still going strong 4 teeth later.Good Luck!

My daughter lost her 1st tooth, the day before New Years Eve.I have never seen anyone so excited about losing a tooth.
As she was going to bed,she became rather tearful, and i asked why,my daughter turned round and said to me `while i was brushing my teeth,my tooth fell out and went down the plughole`
So we sat down together and wrote a note for the `tooth fairy` explaining what had happened and where she could find my daughters tooth.
Then she put the note on the end of her bed.Once she was asleep,we made the note disappear and put some money under her pillow.
She was rather shocked the next morning, when she found her note had gone.
You could type up and print a fancy letter for your little boy, saying thank you for his tooth, and how the fairies are going to make some nice furniture from it,that's what I've always told mine when they've lost a tooth.

Money is just fine. The whole excitement of putting the tooth some place for the tooth fairy and waking in the morning to find the money will be enough to keep him happy for awhile.
About $2 is a good amount to leave (when I was a kid it was 50 cents).

What a precious moment for a mother. The tooth fairy comes the night the tooth is lost and leaves a little money. Ti's Mama's chance to take the tooth and save it. Sometimes a note about how precious he is if you can type it or forge someone else's handwriting. Lucky you many more big moments to share

My parents always just gave me a quarter-I think inflation has made that go up tho! haha! I think you call the shots here, whatever you leave, he is gonna think its from the tooth fairy and its gonna be magical for him....if that means giving him a small toy along with a dollar or somethin-fine, but I would think some cash would be appropriate.

Usually they are not expecting anything magical.
Some of my daughter's friends get small gifts instead of money. Hopefully you know the going rate in town. Some kids at our school get $5+ for a tooth (CRAZY). Another friend gets coins from other countries.

Leave him a little bit of money, a sprinkle of glitter("fairy dust"), and a note from the tooth fairy! Good luck!

money or a small present(eg a kiddie magazine) is enough,
though I know someone who forged 'letters' from the tooth fairy to their daughter but I feel this is too much because it resulted in the kid over believing in the tooth fairy still when most her age had stopped believing. it ended up as a bigger disapointment when she found out and the other kids thought she was stupid to still believe.

money is all, i had a tiny plastic chest made expecially for putting teeth in for the tooth fairy. My mom always made it special by giving me rare coins, like a 50 cent peice, or a dollar coin, you could also try a $2 bill.
