Jesus Christ said: “You should pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven . . . ’” He also said: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me. . . . If you ask for anything in my name, I will do it.”—Matt. 6:9; John 14:6, 14, JB; italics added.

Yes. You are praying to her not as a goddess but as an intercessor.
Let's take an example from everyday life. You need something and you ask your father for it. He seems non-committal. What do you do? You look for someone to intercede on your behalf, someone whom you feel would be more approachable, like your mother, grandmother. Doesn't that make sense?

So it IS proper to address prayers to Mary, mother of Jesus, as INTERCESSOR.

It is perfectly proper. Did you ever visit the the grotto of the Virgin Mary in Lourdes, France? A young girl of 14 called Bernadette saw 18 visions of the Immaculate Conception, and as is natural no one believed her until she dug with her hands an arid plot of land near the grotto and water emerged and is running up to today.
People all year round crowd the grotto in Lourdes to pray to Saint Bernadette and the Virgin Mary. Their prayers are taken by the saints to God.
Please enter in search in the Web, "Saint Bernadette" and read some amazing recent facts.

The bible says "the dead know not what goes on under the sun."
Is Mary omnipresent like Jesus/God? No. Does she hear any prayers? No.
"there is one mediator between God and Man, Jesus"
She was not sinless -she called God her savior
She had sex with Joseph-Jesus was her Firstborn son not only born. Bible says Joseph did not "know her' until the birth of Jesus. This is a no brainer.
She was a blessed women and I'd love to meet her someday-but she is not our savior or God to be prayed to or worshipped, this is sinful as seen by the former Pope who bowed down to her in idol worship.

There is nowhere in the bible that it says to pray to Mary as an intercessor. In fact it clearly says that Jesus is our intercessor who stands by the right hand of God interceding on our behalf.
Jesus Himself said that no one could come to the Father except by Him. Catholics have the misconception that Mary is the mother of God. She is only a human vessel of whom Jesus was born into the world. She is the mother of Jesus who was human and had given up His Godly powers to rely on The powers of the Holy Spirit, giving us the example on how to rely on God and the Holy Spirit.

If you ask your fellow Christians to pray for you why is it wrong to ask THEE model of Christianity to pray for us. We do not ask her to solve the problem but, to pray for us. Does not Scripture say that "The prayers of a righteous man availeth much"? (look it up in your concordance) She is alive with her son in Heaven. (I will not let my Holy one see decay) you can look this up too from Psalms. She is not dead she is alive as we Catholics are alive. Are you jealous? I cannot think of any other reason that you are so against your Lord's Mother. Do you realize that he is noticing every person that is disrespectful of her? The Commandment is Honor your Father AND your Mother. He is God -- How would he honor her? You know he does because he cannot be untrue to his Commandment. Think about it.

What a bunch of hipocrites!! In the next breath someone will say "Oh, will you pray for me and my family" And you all will jump all over it and say Oh yes, we will and of course and oh sure already done it and so on. The majority of the answers have said " There is only one mediator between God and man and that's Jesus" but why if that is true do we say we will pray for someone? You guys don't know what the heck your talking about!!

In Paul's day some believed you had to go through a series of angels to approach God, so he wrote: "Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. If you died with Christ to the basic elements of this world, why as though you still belonged to it do you submit to rules: "Do not handle" "Do not taste" "Do not touch" - These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence" (Colossians 2:18-23)
Rather:
"Since we have a great high priest who has gone into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our profession of faith. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way as we are - yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:14-16)

God forbids contact with the dead.
Deut 28:10-12 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witch-craft or casts spells or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord...

There is nothing in the Bible giving us a reason to believe Mary can do anything for us. Or any other Christian who has gone to Heaven ahead of us.
The Catholic church created the "Mary Cult".
Jesus Himself downplayed her role - when a woman shouted out "Blessed be the womb that bore You, and blessed be the breasts that nursed You!", He said ,"No! Blessed are those who hear My words, and do them!"
In other words, don't make a 'god' of my mother, just listen to Me, and do what I say.
