He is a year old. I walk him, play fetch with him, feed him, take him out to pee, play with him, give him chew toys, and yet he always get this stubborn attitude and will cry at me for hours. When I try to ignore him ( like the dog whisper says to do) he just crys louder. What can I do to make him stop?

I have and raise pit bulls and love them....

i have one dog that is a crier....
no matter what you do-

we can leave and he will yowl for hours

we can ignore him and it just gets more wound up and self involved...
The ONLY thing that has helped with him is a shock collar
`I dont say use them willy nilly but the best way to handle that is give him a shock (start at a low level) (if you wont put ot on youself dont do it to the dog)

we have tried EVERYTHING...i think its a personality issue.....

and he likes his own voice....

Dogs are den animals. So get a crate and put your sweatshirt or old robe or towel in there with him.. then turn off the lights or put a blanket over it so it is darkened. This will become his "corner of the world" so NEVER put him in there if he has been bad.. this is not for punishment..
play a little.. throw in a couple of small treats.. shut the door and turn off the lights... THEN when he comes out you must do something "happy".. good things should happen .. naturally he will need to go potty... then play a little.

Dogs do not think in time... they only remember that you played.

GOOD LUCK

Even though you play with him and do all the things you are supposed to do he might just be feeling lonley when you leave him by himself. If he is locked in an area inside the house if you have a spare/ small tv put it in the room with him when he is alone or even a radio works, sometimes just hearing another persons voice is enough to keep them happy, and if all that fails you could always connsider getting another dog to keep him company, hope that helped.

You cave and pay attention to him when he's loud.
Ignoring him means you don't even look at him until he's quiet.
Obedience classes will teach you how to train him without driving you both nuts.
You have to train him to behave. He's like a baby, he doesn't understand what you want of him.

He is starved for attention of the doggie-kind.
