Ha ha ha ha! Sorry, but it sure brings back some... not so happy memories! I fell in love the moment I laid eyes on that baby Jack Russel...6 yrs later, after replacing most everything in my house and going about out of my mind, I think he finally is beginning to calm down....lol I suggest you get a crate ASAP! Crate him when you are not home, and make sure you have lots of treats for "good" behavior. Jack Russell's are VERY high strung, and usually have a mind to do as the please, and that is bounce off the walls 22 hrs out of a day. Hang in there, and good luck! lol

First off the previously recommended crate training is always a good idea..plus it's a safe place for the dog to be while you're family is out. In ansswer to a few of your questions..

potty training...start over..try this...Put a body harness on your dog and a 5-6 foot long leash. Whenever the dog is inside and not crated than tie the leash to your belt..so you will be constantly seeing the dog. When you see it start to search/circle/signal otherwise that it needs to go, walk the dog immediately outside to an appriopaite potty area. Make sure you use your chosen command word, give plenty of praise and treat when completed (make sure you have treats in your pocket, don't delay with rewarding the dog). Do this until your dog is consistently trying to drag you to the door to show you that it neds to go outside. Training a 7 month old is not difficult, I used this technique with both my dogs which I acquired when they were roughly a year old each. Just remember a 7 month old can on average hold it's bladder/bowel for about 7 hours..so keep track of the clock, and water/food intake especially before bedtime.

Make sure you've cleaned the inside of the house of all priors accidents, this means not just getting rid of the visible stains but of the enzymes..use a good cleaner rated for cleaning biological stains and odors... I use Orange TKO (it's great for anything in the house [laundry, bedding, general cleaning] and safe for pets) or Nature's Miracle...make sure you buy the dog formula.

As for the dog not eatings it food unless your husband pretends to eat it first... STOP this immediately unless your husband wants to do it for the rest of the dog's life. First off...during this training period do not give dog treats or extra meals until dog consistently eats... now to train dog to eat from bowl...Set food bowl down at designated feeding time, give dog a set time (say 5 minutes) to eat, when time is up pick up bowl. Do not give bowl again until next deisngated feeding time, repeat.... Now be strong you'll feel bad the dog is hungry but as long as the dog stays hydrated it will eat when it gets hungry...dogs like humans can go for weeks without food as long as it stays hydrated.
