Okay.... you're starting here with the *assumption* that *most* people believe it was indeed written by random hoboes.
What proof, evidence, or even implication do you have that this is true?
Rulers, kings, and prophets are not exactly random hoboes. and as to "needing money"..... where did you get that idea? The people who wrote the bible weren't doing it for money. God told them to. And when God tells you to do something, you'd better do it!

I think the Torah began as a tribal peoples' mythology. Also when the leaders didn't want the people to do something they would just say that God said not to do it. For example the whole not eating shellfish or pork thing. All the Jewish laws are said in the Bible to have come from God, but it's obvious that they are man made. They are too ridiculous to be anything else.
This website called 'The Brick Testament' has a funny list of the Jewish law and acts them out with lego people. You have to go there!

I don't think their writers actually needed money.
I grant them the benefit of the doubt of being honest while expressing their thoughts.
The people who has made money with it are the ones that took it as an absolute inalterable lifestyle guide, charging innocent and good willing people for some consulting services regarding how to apply those precepts in their everyday life (and punishing them if they didn't follow the rules)
I don't believe in anything. I only trust in what I have a proven experience. The rest is subject to be questioned.

nicely, coming from an atheist's attitude, i hit upon The Bible to be an somewhat exciting e book. yet, to me, this is all this is, a e book. this is a bite of historical literature, alongside with The Quran, The Torah, and so on. they're very exciting and exciting books, and that i relish analyzing them! How human beings have faith the thoughts interior them does make me snicker slightly and why human beings worship them makes me confident that those form of human beings are slightly insane.

Well, a few of the historical details are valid. I mean, Jeruselam DID exist, archeologists have uncovered two villages near to each other that were destroyed by fire (well -- by volcanos) that date to about the right time of Soddom and Gemmorah, etc...
But it's no different than Tom Clancy writting a technothriller novel that incorporates real events from the war in Iraq -- because some of the source materials were true, a few facts in the novel will be true, even though it's over all a fiction story.

If you were of The True Christian Faith you would have God's Word on it..... The Bible of The True Christian Faith is not intended for the non-believer. There is nothing in it for the non-believer... Only those open to the leading of The Holy Spirit will find what God has for them there

I have never read the bible completely, but I believe in some things in it that relate to man on earth...locusts, floods, etc. Revelations scared the heck out of me. I am 50=50 on it!
