A religious wedding - not FREE! Church collection? Sounds like a scam to me, but where does all the money go? Into the pockets of priests, so they can drive fancy cars and have a fancy house, sex was around lot longer than marriage and so we all know that "no sesx before marriage" is bs. Hmm Priests, i think they are actors, they use religion to get at out pocket cash!! Notice how lots of priests are fat, they have been eating good food as well as living in luxury!!

Hee hee. You are a funny person. Money goes to the poor for food, clothing and shelter. Priest are given a small stipend if they are secular priest. Priest of religious orders take vows of poverty and ownership of anything. All belongs to the community.

Fancy cars, fancy houses, sex for instant gratification has always proven bad for women, notice that many of the poor are fat, notice that many of the rich are fat, notice that many on this forum are fat. We are a rich society, even our ministry reflect our people.

And your point is?!
Bigotry, intolerance, Christian phobia!

>>>A religious wedding - not FREE!>>>

No church (at least no Catholic church) maintains a "schedule of fees" for things like religious weddings.

A donation is customary -- but people who aren't well off financially aren't required to pay a certain amount. In fact, if they can't donate anything, they don't have to.

Marriage is a sacrament, and no priest may charge money for the administration of any sacrament. That's strictly against Church law.

>>>Church collection?<<<

Catholics are not required by church law to put a certain amount of money into the basket, or if they're destitute, to put any money in at all.

But we are required to do whatever we can to help financially support our parishes. How much we give in order to meet that duty is up to us.

>>>Sounds like a scam to me, but where does all the money go? Into the pockets of priests, so they can drive fancy cars and have a fancy house,>>>

Our pastor doesn't drive a fancy car or live in a fancy house.

There's a lot involved in financially keeping a parish running.

Think of all the bills that the typical household has to pay in a month -- then, compare it to the bills a Catholic parish must meet, and you'll find they're multiplied many times over.

>>>sex was around lot longer than marriage and so we all know that "no sesx before marriage" is bs.>>>

Lots of things have been around a lot longer than marriage, including murder. Does that automatically make it okay?

Abstaining from sex until marriage, removing the moral questions for the moment, is the PERFECT way to avoid STDs and premarital pregnancy. It's much better than any other method, including the Almighty Condom. That's a fact.

>>>Priests, i think they are actors, they use religion to get at out pocket cash!!>>>

I think you're wrong. Nobody who wants a lucrative, well-paying career meets that goal by entering the priesthood.

>>>Notice how lots of priests are fat, they have been eating good food as well as living in luxury!! >>>

No ... priests aren't fat any more often than the population at large.

Most of them have schedules and demands on their time that most other people don't have.

As such, they often have little time to exercise, and little time to eat proper, healthy meals.

Not long ago, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops put out a report regarding that very topic. It discussed ways of easing demands on priests so that they can look after their own health and physical fitness better.

Religion weddings ARE free in the Catholic Church. It is customary to tip the Priest about 15 bucks afterwards, though this practice is not mandatory.

Churches have collections so they can, gee I don't know, pay the utility bills? Feed the poor? This ringing any bells?

i would be improper yet i think that Orthodox clergymen are allowed to marry.... as are Anglican and Episcopalian clergymen. There even are extremely some married clergymen interior the Catholic Church. final 365 days some 600 Anglican parishes rejoined the Catholic Church via Anglican help for gay marriage. lots of the clergymen of those parishes have been married and proceed to be so even however they have been ordained as Catholic clergymen. comprehend that Apostolic succession is a key element. interior the Catholic and Orthodox traditions each and each priest became ordained with the aid of Bishops who have been ordained with the aid of bishops going back to the unique apostles. With the killing of maximum of Catholic bishops for the time of the wreck with the Anglican wreck from the Catholic Church it relatively is assumed that this apostolic succession (and consequently in step with threat the real presence of Christ interior the Eucharist) became lost. It became much extra questioned with the Episcopalian Church of their wreck from the Anglican Church.

Do you work for free?

No kind of wedding is free if you want a big one. A Catholic nuptial Mass wedding is free since it is a simple wedding that is done during a normal Mass.

Limousines, catering, banquet halls, professional musicians, etc. are what cost the money.

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

O ye who believe! surely, many of the priest and the monks devour the wealth of men by false means and turn men away from the way of God. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of god - give to them the tidings of a painful punishment.

I personally consider religion as a legal form of fraud. In what other field could you sell someone snake-oil cures for the ills and get away with it.
