I think that idea is really far too complex and deep to explain why many become atheists. I think the simple straightfoward answer is that most atheists simply are not willing to accept a world where someone else beside's themselves is in authority and gets to decide what they should and shouldn't do. I think this is supported consistently by several polls that have asked Republicans and Democrats whether they believe in God. Without exception, every poll shows a dramatically higher number of Democrats who claim to be atheist. That is consistent with many ideas associated with the Democratic platform.
1) No one has the right to tell a woman what she can and can't do with her body in regard to abortion.
2) No one has the right to force my child to sit through a prayer in school.
3) No one has the right to make a child under the age of 18 inform their parents before they seek out birth control or an abortion.
Etc., Etc.
Atheists just don't like the idea that there is someone else smarter than they are who made the world and makes the rules. Therefore, the simple solution to the problem is to make God not exist. Then they get to live their lives the way they want and nobody can tell them what to do. They are the ultimate authority. So really atheists do believe in a God who is in ultimate authority. It's just that that authority is themselves. They are God.

Religion is a fantasy, much like a comic book. Stories in most of these books were written thousands of years and "lifted" and rewriiten into the religions you see today.
Religious people are the cavemen and cavewomen of today. They are closed minded, believe in superstitions and do little to solve the problems facing the REAL world. It is an embarassment and a disgrace that the most intelligent species on the planet can be such tools. It is like a delusional disease that has spread the world over.
If you saw an adult acting like a 4 year old with a sincere belief in Santa Claus, who you not say something?

No, I think atheists get fed up with questions like these designed to insult and incite them.
I wonder if Jesus would really approve of your behavior here. I wonder if this is what He would do.
I think you're the one who is angry because they will argue circles around most christians on just about any subject. Perhaps you should take some time to study up on the word christian and what that means.. then take it to the next level, and see if you really are following Christ here.
As your people like to put it, you may be the only bible some people read. Is THIS the testimony you want to put out to non-believers and your God? THIS is what you want to stand accountable for? Inciting and insulting others?
I think the christians on here are the ones who are bitter and angry.. perhaps you really shouldn't be on here if this is what a board will make you become.

With this question, in my humble opinion, you are either expressing fear, or living in a fluff-bunny universe.
There might be people who are angry with God, but these typically don't become "atheists". They simply turn their back on God and stop going to church. If you're angry with parents, you don't suddenly adopt a philosophy which says "people are born under cabbage patches". You may say "I don't have parents", or "I don't talk to my parents", or "they're dead"; you don't adopt a philosophy that "parents don't exist".
It's better to take one at their word. If they say they don't believe in God, they likely don't. There may be some who newly decide to adopt a position of atheism who don't fully believe this, but they might be adopting this position to learn or become further convinced. It's much the same as when a new person comes to a church to be convinced as well.
The angry or bitter argument is simply one which will fail to convince because it is based on a premise which is false.

How many atheists believe questions such as yours arise from the terror of contemplating the existence of a person who was actually able to not believe in a god? Possibly such a notion feels dangerous to your own faith, since faith is a kind of certainty about things that can't be proven. The existence of any non-believer might dilute that "certainty", and you probably don't have a backup plan should it suddenly, somehow dissolve.

the place does the completed on the instant guy and gay difficulty are available in? you're evaluating apples and oranges right here and utilising around reasoning (and not ok) via the way, it somewhat is "an" atheist. you specifically use an in the previous a vowel different than in lots of cases times, like in "a school". I mean, wow, English isn't even my first language yet I probably communicate it lots extra helpful than you may. And that basically shows you're actually not an psychological, it somewhat is additionally revealed by your poor reasoning.

I can understand why Christians would chose to believe that. I certainly did when I was a christian and many christians I know believe that way.
I think if you'll take the time to actually ASK an atheist you might be surprised. I also think that its the minimum of RESPECT you owe other human beings - to ask them, rather than just make a snap judgement as to why (because it suits your belief system and is easier).

Well, from the hostile atheists I've seen on YA, I gotta say we're not dealing with real atheists, just some angry, bitter people who come here to let off steam for whatever emotional problem they're dealing with. Real atheists don't believe they have souls, so the purpose of them even being in the religion/spiritual section is moot, which is of course why they hang out in different areas, areas that actually concern them. It would be like me hanging out in the craft section. since I have absolutely no interest in crafts.
Not all are like that of course, but the majority on YA are. Don't let them get to you, just ignore their insults, they're going for attention, maybe some are dealing with some bad self-image problems and by insulting us make themselves feel more self-important.

As I've stated before, I think whether someone believes in God or not is simply up to how they interpret the evidence given. Not intelligence, not anger, none of those. Just the way you've learned to process information.

I don't consider myself atheist but I'm not a christian either and I'm not bitter. It's a personal preference anger has nothing to do with it. You have your beliefs and atheists have theirs.
