Do not "tell" him that you like him. Show him. Hold his hand for a second, look into his eyes a little too long, give him a quick kiss and tell him he's sweet. Use your imagination girl.
Don't verbally tell him you like him. It could turn into the most agonizingly uncomfortable conversation of your life.

I think that yes its akward to start a conversation like that. But if you are as close as you say, he is your friend and will not judge you. And you should be completely honest.
Getting it out there is the hardest step. But once you just tell him, you can figure out where to go from there.
Just go somewhere where u can talk. maybe a nice dinner first, lighten the mood, get comfortable, then home to be in private.
Tell him that you are care about him, and you cherish your friendship, but you have to be honest, and you have been feeling something more romantic. And express your feelings, and ask him what he thinks, no matter what feel good that you got it off your chest, and you wont have to live with the what ifs of not telling him. GOOD LUCK!!!

It really does depend on how you normally talk. Some girl/guy relationships can talk about anything and others jus avoid certain subjects having to do with the opposite sex. You could try to ask him if he wants to go to dinner or something, unless thats a normal thing. Slightly suggest doin something with jus him that you normally do. Little hints always help in the beginning.

Just start...You know I really enjoy you as a friend. I seem to be able to feel comfortable when you are around. How do you feel? People that see us ask if we are together...I am not sure what to tell them. I'm not sure how I feel all the time...have you ever thought about us and what we mean to each other. I am so embarrassed but I just wonder sometimes.

first of all, you two have to be alone and hanging out
ask him to grab a bite to eat or to go to the movies, whatever things you guys like to do together
once there, i've found it's easier to make subtle physical connections with them
such as, everyonce in a while, brush ur hand up against theirs or get a little closer to them then you guys are used to
this way, you can make sure he likes you if he responds back, so you won't even have to tell him you like him
that's just me though, i dont think i've ever actually told someone i like them, you can just feel it and you guys will know
or, you can always just tell them online. i mean, whats the worst that can happen, they say they don't feel the same and you are rejected in your own house. you have everything to comfort you around you already, anyway

First of all think about what things will be like without him in your life. Cause there's a fair chance he will go for it, but what is he like to chix after they break up. If he is still friends with some of his ex's then go for it, but if she never talks to them again, decide what you need more - a friend or a boyfriend for a while.
If you decide to go for it........
"I've always known that I liked you cause you are such a good friend, but lately I've been noticing even more things I like about you"
"I wish I could have a bf with all of your qualities, your looks, your smile, sense of humour etc.. come to think of it, your one of a kind, maybe I just want YOU!"
Good luck!

I think that if you are friends then sometime when you are talking with him, alone, then you should say so...do you like anyone? and if he says no then w.e. if he says yes, then say who? if he doesn't tell you then just move on. hopefull he will ask you who you like. smile, say, hmmmm.....you should know. and then say i really like you! but don't sound to anxious. and hopefully he'll tell you that he likes you. its almost foolproof. e-mail me back if you use this and tell me how it works out.
