And I'm not necessarily a lazy person in school. I'm at an 88% average. So this isn't from one of those "drop out, I don't care" kind of people.

And yes, I can understand tthe questions and having to do a floor plan of the house, but building one is a bit much.

Yes I think that is too much. Especially because it is just one class and you probably had homework from other classes as well.

Do you really think the other students have done all this work? What about the meaning of CHRISTMAS BREAK? What will your teacher do the first day back with students?Grade all that stuff? What about your other classes?

Did he do this for all of his classes or just yours? Its a bit much to do without getting feedback from your teacher. Did he provide you with his phone number or email so that you could ask questions if you had to? I doubt it.

What if you're doing it all wrong and for 1 1/2 to 2 weeks your just sitting on wrong answers? Where is the education in that?

BUILD A HOUSE? ok... again... you have to design and build a HOUSE over Christmas break? And you are a ninth grader?? Either your teacher is nuts or you don't know how to express yourself. In the second case the amount of homework is fine, really, its a few hours INVESTED, at least you need the writing practice.

I am in grade 9 and for my hw assignment i had to:
write a 6paragraph essay (first and final draft+ planning)
write a DBQ essay (first draft)
do all/10 assignments of science for the rest of my 40day cycle (5-7 ques each)
study two sets of vocadulary
7 questions for math

I STILL CANT UNDERSTAND HOW I FINISHED IT ALL IN ONE DAY!

u seem to have recieved a lot of hw over ur break!

To me, I think that homework sucks but we have to do it so I think it is unfair because we learn this stuff 5 days a week for 6 hours so what is the point of homework? I know it's stupid but do it anyways but it is still unfair. Peace and love.

Considering It's one class, thats way too much..many schools dont get anything over christmas break because of the spirit of the holiday, heh, Id be supprised to see over half the class do it though..

Well I think it is a lot, maybe unfair in the eyes of some people, but you can't have too much fun. For my standards it's reasonable- this is considering the fact that you get some days with only a little homework. It all balances out right?
It doesn't seem like a lot, but then again i haven't tried it and i'm not at your level.

Sounds fair to me, but you were probably just planning on chatting with you BFF for the entire break, so I can see where you would get your idea. If you dont like school, just shirk your work and when you reach the appropiate age, drop out. You are just wasting everyone's time otherwise. If you cannot finish an assignment that east with the assistence of the internet, you should start applying for jobs at the local grocery store.

i think that is unfair. I didn't get any homework over christmas break. oof! i was afraid i was because i didn't finish any of my 6 pages in math, 3 pages of questions in science or any of the 12 page report we had to do in geography about i don't know what! But they were nice for once and didn't put it as homework! that would have been so unfair!

If you're supposed to build an entire house, that's definitely unfair...

The rest of it doesn't sound that bad. You could probably do it in an hour if you got off the Internet and worked on it. ;)
