In Japanese, "ka" is a question word. Putting it on the end of a statement makes the statement a question.
For example:
- Genki desu ka? (Are you happy/feeling good?)
- Hai, genki desu! (Yes, I'm happy/feeling good!)
or
-Kanadajin desu (I'm Canadian)
-Kanadajin desu ka? (Are you Canadian?)

"Ka" or sometimes spelled "kah" in many languages is an interrogative particle when you ask a question.
In Indonesian and Malaysian when you ask Where is your house, you use the word "kah": "Dimana kah rumahmu?"
The same thing in Tagalog: How are you: Kumusta ka?
And Japanese: Are you a an Australian? Anata wa Osetorari jin desu ka?
