I would really like to remove unwanted hair permanently at home. I have tried electrolysis and laser hair removal. None seem to have worked. Can anyone suggest one that has worked wonders for them and is actually permanent. thank you

I would say the permanent way would be Electrolosis. you did say, none seem to have worked. Maybe you didnt persist long enough in you anxiousness to be smooth.

It doesn't work just like that though as I'm sure the girls will agree. When you remove the hairs, they WILL grow back, though allegedly finer and finer etc.

I am not a beautician

You really can't remove hair permanently at home, only temporary. I'm a little confused why electrolysis and laser hasn't worked for you unless you only have had one treatment. I think it's a common misconception that one treatment will rid of the hair permanently. However, there are many factors that determine how your skin and hair will react to the treatment.

If your skin tone is medium or dark, the laser will not work best for you. Typically those with lighter skin and darker hair have the best results. I would consult with a dermatologist on which treatment is best for you skin and hair color.

I went for two laser treatments on my legs and it did stop half of my hair from growing back. The other half is growing in thinner but I'd have to go in for probably 2-3 more treatments to see permanent results. You can also do a waxing at home with prewaxed strips like the ones Veet makes or you can buy a epilator which painfully yanks out your hair.

Laser hair removal works best on fair skinned people with dark hair, but it remains the single most effective way to kill hair from the follicle. Most people have a couple of laser hair removal sessions then decide its not working and give up. I get the feeling that this is more to do with the cost of laser than the effectiveness of the method.

There are home laser hair removal kits available like the Rio that use safe 808nm diverging diode based laser systems. They are basically the same as salon lasers apart from the fact that they can only treat one hair at a time whereas salon lasers can treat an area about 1cm squared.

The great thing about a home laser hair removal kit is that you can treat the same hair multiple times, until they are dead, without breaking the bank. Its a one off investment.

Laser hair removal may work for you and it genuinely may not, but you don't need to spend thousands to find out.

You may also want to weaken the hair by using a hair minimiser like Kalo. It definitely makes the hair grow back softer and finer. this in itself should make hair removal easier and laser hair removal more effective. However, you do need to use it regularly for a couple of months to see any real benefit.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
