Humor the kid and cut it diagonal. It's not a big deal worth fussing about.

HEEJUS! What's the big deal? Are you afraid he might like you for accomodating him? C'mon, it's not like you have to get a special knife to cut the sandwich diagonally. Sometimes, just doing/remembering a seemingly small detail can mean a great deal more than we realize. Why not earn yourself some brownie points and do it. Then teach him how you like yours cut. In the future, he'll probably do something similar for you.
I like certain sandwiches cut on the diagonal (Reuben, Monte Cristo) because it makes it easier to handle. Ham or turkey sandwiches I prefer to have cut vertically.

What's the big deal about cutting sandwiches one way or the other, especially since you're already going to be cutting them for him anyway. Like someone else said, you've got to pick your battles when you're dealing with kids -- especially when it's a stepchild.

I'd say either humor him and cut them the way that he likes them, or else teach him how to make and cut his own sandwiches. The first approach will probably gain you some brownie points, and even if he doesn't like the the second option, he's still learning to be independent.

Either way, it's win-win for you.

Is this question honestly worth asking. No it shoudlnt be an issue your step son likes it that way you like yours cut across does it really honestly change the taste of the sandwhich. Humor the kid.

Im sure that you can change you ways for your step son. Diagonal might be more fun, or maybe its easier for him to get his mouth over the corners. In any case, who cares, hes eating it so just cut it the way he wants.

Diagonal cut is better to me. Of course that is how my mom cut it when I was growing up. I don't think your step-son is trying to be difficult, it's a small change to make for him. Try it you might like it better yourself.

It tastes the same either way you do it! But maybe it would depend on what kind of sandwich it is. My grilled cheese I like cut diagonal because I dip them in tomato soup, but my PB&J, I like them cut in half so I can dip them in a glass of milk. I never thought about that before. Thanks for bringing it up! I wonder what it would be like for him to eat the sandwich whole?

Yes, just cut it diagonal for him and then cut it the way you like it for yourself. Me? I don't care how it's cut as long as the crust is cut off.

He had probably been served it this way before.
Many people will eat a sandwich this way.

Cut it diagonally, this is not an argument you need to win.

yes! it is an issue! :-)
anyway when i was a kid i didnt like the crust of the bread on cold sandwhiches. the sandwhich being cut diagonal made it easier to eat the sandwhich without eating the crust.
