The quote is, "If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away."

Can you PLEASE give me 1-2 paragraphs. In the first one, explain the quote, while in the second one say if you agree/disagree. THANKS A LOT.!!!!!!!

Let me translate: "If a dude isn't acting just like his friends, maybe it's cuz he's doesn't listen to the same kind of music, y'know, like, maybe they like punk and he doesn't. So what? The dude should dance to whatever music he likes, whether it's goth or country or that Euro dance stuff."

That's a metaphor for being yourself, being independent, going your own way. Now go write two paragraphs about it!! Should be easy peasy. Especially if the second paragraph is YOUR OWN OPINION. Don't have us tell you what to think... how ironic.

Thoreau is promoting individualism and discouraging conformity. If one's heart calls him to do something different or unusual, Thoreau urges him to follow that.
I agree that we should follow the path that God has prepared for us to take, even if it is not what conventional wisdom calls for. Seeking and following God's will must be paramount.
