I had dinner with my parents and came home and watched tv. Kinda lame but I'm sick of starting the New Year with a horrendous hangover. There was a big fireworks display that I can see from my house but on the whole it was very low key. The cat had a good time.

i had a sober new year - drank sparkling grape juice by the pool in a waterfront property in fort lauderdale...
it was great - fireworks, friends and food all over the place!
At about 2:30 AM most of the people filtered out and we were down to about 8 people and we spent the next 2-3 hours discussing politics, religion, literature and films... I don't think it would have gone as smoothly if there had been liquor involved.
The people at the party who were drinkers only had a couple glasses of wine or champagne and the recovery folks drank grape juice.... no one turned into an angry, sloppy mess.
It was probably the most sophisticated party on the coast!

Spent the night ( 8:00 yesterday evening to 10:00 this morning ) at a Zen meditation retreat. Went with a group of 5 to join others (about 35) to share in meditation on and off throughout the night, snack of noodle soup about 10:00 p.m., shared ringing (108 times) of the 'great bell', then bonfire at midnight, drank hot apple cider, all slept in our sleeping bags in large incense filled room, awoken with bells at sunrise, more meditation, group walk to outdoors, home grown food breakfast, conversation, then drive home.
Very peaceful, celebrating and centering.

In my living room watching the Flintstones with my son, eating noodles with garlic butter & spinach, all the while praying for those affected by and living in Middle East war zones.

i celebrated the New Year with my two best friends.
we had fun even though the weather was cold outside!

I had a candle-lit dinner with my sweetie. Then we danced in our own living room, had a glass of bubbly, and made out for the rest of the year.

me and my hubby hung out at home since we have a 7 month old..but it was still fun
