Life is not about arriving somewhere, it's about going somewhere. At 20, I had a set of things that I wanted to be, and I did get to be some of them. But, I'm no longer the same person at 31. My goals and values are different. They'll probably be different again in ten years. The whole notion of "being someone" assumes that there's some arrival point we get to.
There isn't. We're all constant works in progress. Be what you want to be right now. Get out and explore the world you have at age 38, and pick some targets for age 39. And take it from there.

In my opinion, it's never too late!!!!!!!! Can't change the past, but sure can do something in the present (and the future will take care of itself); I'm not implying one should not use present to dream, envision, and plan, beyond just executing or living in the present. Better now than never; and better now than later; so, Start now!!!! (Sounds like it's a blessing to feel that one should be doing something more worthwhile or of some greater significance, particularly in relation to others, family/friends/community/nation/world; because then everyone benefits; those that get served, and the one that's serving, for example, through a deep personal satisfaction.)

well, who knows, you are right, you could be doing more, whatever your situation is, do something different, take a hike, walk across the united states, or something like that, you might not become someone, but you will meet people who have different perspective, get an education, yeah, and i should take my own advice, i am almost twice as old as you, am i someone, only in my mind perhaps, were i to be someone, do i have hope, yes, it would be easy if i hit a hugh lottery,
if i had my theme parks working being built and in operation, would i be someone, i think so, but sometimes who cares, it matters what you are now, and what you can be, and how to get there, if you desire to travel to those places to make you be someone, i have a friend who lives in a silver mine, but he does not call it beggar's tomb"i have met the man who was in charge of the Appollo moon walk, everything had to be inspected by him personally, i have not met, but have seen Salvatore Dali in person, am i someone, i would like to be someone, building my houses and resturants, but would that make me someone,
Being thirty eight, you have lots of time, and much potential to be someone, if it is a movie star or recording artist, you want to be, that is a sure way to the top, but is it really someone, maybe you are good enough as you are right now, if you feel you are not doing enough feeding the starving healing the sick, building new automobiles, qelling tides no matter what they might be, go for it, chances are you are not doing enough, whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God, and have a healthy and prosperous new year, and life, maybe even a nobel prize or some other kind of prize, it would be an accomplishment to know all the prizes there are,

No, it is never too late. After high school, I went to college and got a degree in Accounting and pursued that career for 20 years. Then I got burnt out and quit. I am now almost 45 and in March I will graduate with an Associates in Medical Assisting, which seems to me to be more worthwhile. It wasn't too late for me and it isn't too late for you either. You just need to figure out what your calling is. Good Luck!!

May I be honest with you? A person who is kind, who lets others go first, who always has a kind word to say, who is an encourager, who is patient, who uplifts others, who is generous, this is a person who is worth more than all the self-important, me-first, look-at-me kinds of people on earth.
Seek to make the world a place where you bring harmony and joy wherever you go....never drawing attention to yourself, now that is someone worth being.

I became an Engineer at the age of 44. That after being a high school drop-out and working for nothing for years. Is it too late for you to turn things around? I think you really know the answer to that by now. God bless you and good luck with your bright future!

If a 71 year old low income person in the US can graduate from law school and land a job fighting for peoples rights, then it is never too late for you. She was determined and you can be too.

You already ARE someone. You may not realize it but the actions you take every single day effects others.
"Be the shining light that stands in the darkness for everyone to see. Be the one who will blaze a path where there was no path so that one day others might follow"

No now is probably more perfect timing. When one is younger they are really not sure of what they want out of life. Being more mature, you should be able to find someone with the same values, morals and ideas of what is important in a relationship. Good luck and God bless****

Make a plan, and stick to it. Don't just sit around wishing for more, you have to do something about it. Figure out what it is you want to do and then begin the process of doing it. You cant finish anything until you start it. Good luck! Get busy!
