They all ask me if I am. I don't know for sure how to answer. Deep down I think I am at times. I eat, but not enough of that often. I'm usually not hungary but sometimes I feel like I'm going to pass out. I want to loose weight. I feel bad and scared. I don't want my friends to know I'm anorexic. I am not getting help, so don't say that. I feel sick when I eat too much. I'm not sure if I'm anorexic. Do I seem like it? Also, what should I say to my friends and boyfriend if they ask?

People love you, and care about - this is why they ask you if you are anorexic.
You've been very brave in admitting you have a problem, now you just have to reach out and ask for help. Can you talk to your parents or a teacher? You could also go to the doctors on your own if you would be happier with that.
You know that you don't eat enough, and the doctor will be able to help you find out what foods you should eat, and how much you should eat, so that you are healthy, without having to worry about becoming overweight.
Well done on taking the first step.
Help is out there when you want it.

Tell just one person you trust, your mum, your best friend, your auntie, a teacher anyone. This will be the first step and one of the hardest ones but once you've done it you'll be a long way there. You've come close by admitting it here, just a little bit more courage to tell someone you know. They'll help you decide what to do next andf you will be able to talk to them. It'll be a weight off your chest believe me.

Anorexia is a very extreme thing and you may not be actually anorexic but you do have a problem and you do need to do something. If people are noticing your weight enough to ask you it is a problem. You do not need to lose weight now.
Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.

I am not trying to scare you sweety, and even though you said you were not going to seek medical advice, that is exactly what I'm going to say to you. Hun, do you have any idea how many people DIE from anorexia nervosa each year? This is an actual disease, but thankfully it can be treated and even cured. With time, and help, you can be healthy and on the right road again. I really really suggest that you "swollow your pride" so to speak (I mean NO disrespect at all in saying that..however I know that often times people suffering from anorexia are ashamed of the way they look, ashamed because they feel "fat" and ashamed because they know they are sick and dont want people to frown down at them) and get medical attention. Prolonged starvation and or improper eating habits can lead to a whole host of other health proplems. 1.800.445.1900 Here is a number to call and talk to someone about your problems. I wish you the best of luck.

As for what to say to your family and friends, that is really up to you sweetheart. You have to decide if you are ready to seek help, or continue to lose weight an unhealthy way and continue denying your problem. It will not go away on its own, and I hope you can find the courage to overcome it.

No, not nessicarily, You don't sound anorexic. You just seem like you have a very bird-like appetite. However this depends on 2 things:
How you see yourself and whether you want to lose or gain weight.
If you acknowledge the fect that you are already slim and STILL want to be smaller, you may have a disorder. However if you simply like how you are and are not intentionally trying to alter your eating habits, maybe your fine. Don't please anyone but yourself, however maybe little by little you can add small amounts so that you can become a noticably healthy weight. However, for ur friends, if they're not gonna do anything but stand around and ask you IDIOTIC questions that make you feel even MORE self consious.... they don't care.. they're just tryne be nosy.. Tell them to love you or be left behind.

It's good that you talked to someone about it, even if it's online. Trying to be too thin by either anorexia or bulimia for a long time can cause health problems, most of which can heal if you stop the eating disorder (see the source below.) Go talk to someone you trust like a parent, a counselor, or a minister and tell them that you might have an eating problem.

It does sound like you are anorexic, but not drastically. However, if you don't get help you might spiral downwards into full-blown anorexia, and that would be really dangerous for you. I know you don't want help, but I think seeing your GP would be the best option for you right now, before your problem gets any worse. He/she can determine whether you have anorexia or not, and if you're not, he/she can find out the reasons why you are so tired and underweight.

As for wanting to lose weight, you are already underweight, so you definitely don't need to lose more. You need to work on seeing yourself as how you actually look, and not what you think you look like. Again, your GP can help you with this, or refer you to a psychologist or someone who specialises in eating disorders.

Finally, you don't need to worry about what your friends and boyfriend will think of you if you tell them the truth. They love you for who you are, and are probably already worried about you. They will want to help you, and if you let them, they will support you as much as they can through this.

You can and will get out of this, trust me. Good luck. :o)

I think you have to face up to the fact that you do have a eating problem. You need to talk to someone about it before it goes to far. Talk to your boyfriend it, he can only be supportive. It can only get worse if you keep it bottled up inside. If you continue to abuse your body through not eating the effects can be very harmful, you will stop any sort of menstruation which can lead to problems conceiving (if and when you want a baby), there is also the problem of getting fine, downy hair all over your body which is not easy to hide from anyone, your internal organs start to fail and it could lead to death.

If you don't tell someone for you, do it for your family/boyfriend/friends, i am sure they would not like the thought of losing you. The first step to recovery is facing up to your fear.

Good luck

Anorexia is partly about control and outside pressure to conform etc if you feel this is part of the problem you should talk to someone that will listen and help through advice such as help groups. The other possibility is that it may be a health issue so seeing a doctor for a proper check up may spot another problem especially if this is recent.

If you think you are still fat when the scale and reality indicates you as underweight or at your ideal weight, then you are anorexic. Tell your parents so they can get you help ASAP.
