There are some questions that go with this one - Is the mother married to the stepfather - do they file a joint tax-return and is the stepdaughter under 18 - also does the stepdaughter live with the mom and step-dad some of the year? If all the questions are yes then - yes he can - even though she doesn't live all year long - this is especially true if she goes to college and then it increases until 21 or until she starts filing an income tax return.

No. She has to have legal resindence in that house for 6 months or more.

dear he is married to mom he lives there he probably pays bills and buys food .yes he can legally,claim step children on taxes.unless of course you are of legal age and self supporting.

He can only claim her if he is her main support.
