ps: Yeah propositos de año nuevo is good!, propositos sounds better in spanish than resolutions, by propositos you mean the goals and proyects for new year.

I'd say "resoluciones de año nuevo" for an official issue .
Resolution and propósito have different stems, while "resolucion" comes from "resolver", propósito is a purpose, a reason.
So, Resoluciones is often used in legal terms, e.g.: The judge dictated the resolutions.
For colloquial use is better to say propósitos de año nuevo
