Turn your oven down a tad while baking certain things .. like this ,, Some ,,( especially electric,) will, burn them .. Just learned this from a electrician

Your oven might not be calibrated properly, this is a common problem, especiallly in baking which is more like science than other types of cooking.
Get an oven thermometer, they're cheap, and use that to get the proper temperature in your oven.
Also, if you are greasing the pan with butter, use shortening instead. I'm not a shortening fan, but butter burns faster than shortening.

Also try using a light colored pan instead of glass or dark. Are you using the right size pan for the recipe? If the brownies are two thick they will not cook as entended.

take the brownies out 5 minutes early & when they are done ( and cooled down a little) take a sharp and cut the edges off & while they are still in the pan and pitch them! thats what bakeries do

I use the air-bake sheet-pan. They do not allow a direct heat to the edge and work great. They are the double thick metal.

Yes, cover the edges of the pan with tin foil, that will help. mmmm can I have some of your special brownies?

turn down the temp
this will take longer to cook
but will save from burning the edges

Corners covered in tinfoil. like little protector wraps- works every time. Make sure you are on the middle rack in the center of the oven.

Buy a smaller pan so it can cook all at once, also make sure the pan is thick, the martha Stewart non stick pans work great for me!

Don't overbake brownies! That should be a capital offense!
