Had he not taken the profile down because he was just busy with you and forgot about it, then you could have been over reacting, but if he refused to do so and rather break up than take it down, then it seems to me that he made his choice. 2 days later he's decided that may be he was a bit rash in his decision. You know him better than anyone else, but is this the type of man that you want? He can't quite tell you what he wants. Rather than just say that he doesn't want to take his profile down, he makes excuses. Then he breaks up with you only to change his mind. Sounds like he had it up to finish a connection he was trying to make...He made the connection and it wasn't what he thought it was, so now he wants his former option. This is purely conjecture, but from your explanation, it sound kinda fishy. You also seem as though you've made up your mind to take him back. You're the only one whom you need to satisfy with your choice.

Sounds like the guy needs to grow up. If at 49 he doesn't know what he wants by now he will never. If you want him back the best thing to do is ignore him. If you hound and chase and text MSG him all the time he know he has you wrapped around his finger.

Well if your not together it shouldn't matter what he does..If he cares about you he would respect your wishes. If he dosen't listen to you then MOVE ON..Respect is the number 1 standard in a relationship along with honesty and truth.Kick him to the curb if he dosen't do any of these you are much more worthy..

If he's got a dating profile on a website and didn't remove it when you guys hooked up you should move on. He's obviously playing the field and keeping his options open.
Do the smart thing, don't call him and move on, if you stay with him it will just get worse for you.

Unless you can resolve your differences I wouldn't suggest you get back together. And this doesn't sound like a situation between adults at all...much less 2 who are middle aged and beyond...

I think you should continue to value yourself by not contacting him. Perhaps, he wanted to be free for the New Year's celebration. I would move on. He did not show you any respect and if you allow him back into your space, he may think you don;t respect yourself. Count your blessing that you respect and value you, even if he does not. Lysia

It's only been two days. Be patient. If you want to contact him and you have his permission then contact him. If you don't have his permission then leave him alone and get over it. If he still wants to have his profile on the dating service that's his business. It means he's looking for somebody else. Again, get over it.

Generally those dating sites will show when he last logged in and if this is the case, and its been recent, then dump him. You don't need that crap.

You didn't say why you guys broke up...that would help out as far as giving you a better answer.
