I say a prayer for the return of the lost item.
Then I sit down and wait for direction to the lost item
Then I generally get up and find it almost immediately.

39 people will respond before I do :-), but retrace your steps and look through everything, I mean EVERYTHING. People always say "it's always the last place you look" or "it's always where you never think to look". I'd be willing to bet you've overlooked some areas because you just knew darn well that it couldn't possible be there. CHECK IT. Also look in your trash. You may have thrown it away with something else without even realizing it. Check with friends or family if you've had any company (or if YOU'VE been elsewhere), to see if they may have it, or if you left it somewhere. What was IN the folder? Is it POSSIBLE that you took out what was inside? You might be so stuck on looking for the actual folder that you may have overlooked what you actually had in there? I know, stupid comment if I don't know all the details...

Good luck and I hope you find it.

Think back to when you remember having it in your possession last. Try to recall everything you did from that time to the present moment in the order you did them, including what you might have been thinking about at the time and other people who were present or in the vicinity. The other people are important because they may have seen the folder or have something to do with it missing. What you were thinking about or conversations you had are important because they may have led you to doing something with the folder during this time.

Try an angle rod. kinda like dowsing. most people have the gift of being a dowser. Most common examples are for water or minerals. I can do it, and so can all my children. Take a straight wire. like a coat hanger. bend it in 45 degree angle. hold it very loosely in one hand. so it has freedom of movement. This will kinda freek you out. Heres how you test it. Most of us have no clue where north is. Just say out load or to yourself, makes no difference But say"pont north" If the rod doesn't move you are holding it to tight. When it does move, and settles to a specific direction. then verify this location with someone who actually knows, or check a compass. If you get this far, Ask where the folder is. Be specific. like color. You may find it. I have located coins, and a hearing aide that fell down my defroster duck work in my car with out me knowing about it. How's that for serious? Check out the link below. very interesting. Pleas let me know if this worked for you. Thanks

The divining rod method sounds cool, if a little far out. Sad to say I can't think of any sure fire method of finding someting that's been lost. If I wasn't so level headed, I'd swear that sometimes thingd just disappear. I was reading a book once, and put it down in my apartment and it disappeared. I turned the place upside down. I pulled the sofa apart. Nothing. When I eventually moved house, I took every damn thing out of there myself. Never saw that book again. Hope you have better luck.

Well, retrace your steps. And if that doesn't work, break down the room into sections and completely look through one entire section bit by bit, before you move on. That way your search stays organized. If you live with family or roommates, make sure to check if anyone else may have seen it, and moved it.

Did you lose it on your computer ? If you remember the name of it, go to "Start", then "Search", click all files and folders, and type the name in. Also, try checking in your recycle bin, just double click it, its normally located on the desktop.

i just trace all of my steps and do meja searches. i look in places that dontm even seem likely. Sometimes i'll have something in my hand and then just put it down somewhere random and forget where i put it like 3 minutes after.
Just sit down and think about where you had it last and go from there.
