Thin Kaboudit is wrong. Carrying a gun into a mall is not the same as carrying a gun into a person's home because a mall invites the public onto their property because that's how they make money.

Unless the law says you can't carry someplace, you can. And in most states a sign posted by a business must meet certain standards, otherwise it carries no weight.

YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS ONE.

Understand your local state, and city laws. The NRA has alot posted about gun laws for each state. They are specifics on storage, use, and transportation.

Many states posses a CONCEAL AND CARRY law that permits you to carry your firearm except in areas in which posted as forbidden. In many cases this license requires a permit you must carry on you at all times.

Finally, even with the permit be prepared to have a scary moment if ever stopped by police. YOU MUST NOTIFY ANY OFFICER IMMEDIATELY ONCE CONTACT IS MADE THAT YOU ARE IN POSSESSION OF A LOADED FIREARM. He will most likely drawn his sidearm and issues instructions until it is secured by the officer. Follow all instructions and make no sudden movements.

He will ask you if you have a permit and you must produce it at that time. If you don't have the permit on your person you are most likely going to be detained, and a citation issued. You may even lose you firearm.

Finally, Please don't be an idiot. There is very few reasons to carry your sidearm anywhere. Even in dangerous professions it is better to allow things to happen to an extent. If you pull your sidearm in defense you better be prepared to pull the trigger. The NRA and a great lawyer can't save you if you are convicted of manslaughter.

You CANNOT carry a gun on your hip in Florida unless you are a uniformed law enforcement or licensed security officer! If you are over 21 and not a convicted felon, you can carry one in the glove box of your car. If you have a concealed carry permit, your weapon must be concealed, which would be difficult to do if you are carrying it on your hip. Also, owners of private property, such as malls, may prohibit you from carrying a gun on their property, regardless of your permit.

The mall is private property, it's up to them whether you can carry a gun or not (likely not), since that's no different than someone thinking they have a "right" to come into your house wearing a gun.

Whether you can have or wear a gun in your car is a matter of State law, and you don't mention what state you are in.

Remember, the Constitution only provides you the right to bear arms as part of a "well-organized militia".

In the St of Mississippi you can not carry a loaded weapon in a place of business even with a permit. You can go down a street walking with it on your hip or laying on the seat of your car also with a permit.....but never in a place of business. Only law enforcement officers can do this.
Concealed weapons means that it is under the seat of your car or out of sight....also maybe in the car pocket...not able to be seen if stopped by the law.

Better to have an ankle hoster, there's little chance of it being discovered unless you are searched. As to carrying a handgun on your hip I can just guess what would happen here in los angeles. The police here would freak out.

Depends where you live.

In Canada you can only transport handguns in vehicle from one place to another (home to shooting club, gun store to home) and you need a special permit to transport it. The gun must be properly locked up in a suitable container in the car and must not be left in the car unattended. The only ones who can carry guns on their hips here are police officers/military or specially trained security guards.

Depends on your state laws and if you live in a state that requires a carry permit or not there are three states that take the constitution "Prima Faceita" and don't require carry permits.
