I am not talking about things you did to save money, ie, if you cranked down the AC "also" to save money, that doesn't matter to me. I am only interested if you cranked it down exclusively because of environmental concerns.

And, did actions or interviews of celebrities (like Leo De Caprio's recent Y!A featured question) play any role in your change? (be honest, lol)

Thanks in advance.

Judy (and Michael) I agree that there are natural cycles and we may well be going through one. Still, wouldn't some of our actions be like "leaning the wrong way when the boat crosses a wave sideways"? The wave is a "natural cycle" but all the more reason to lean the other way.

And yes Judy, it is. You are the 1st person who ever caught it. Congrats! Did you like I goldened it to have it work as a halo?

I live in a small town, so walking to get things is easy (a mile to anywhere)...so I walk more and recyle as much as I can...and talk to people if they will listen to me rant about it. I think everyone needs to recognize that Man's influence in global warming is real and get their heads out of you-know-where. I've been thinking that global warming is real and Man is the main culprit since 1980, but the seriousness is building for me. Up until 10 years ago, I really didn't do anything about it..the things I do have been gradual and from the influence of people I see doing things...Seeing the Inconvenient Truth or listening to celebrities hasn't made me do any extra, I would do more, but there isn't much I can do more unless corporations become green and I can choose what I buy by what the company is like

I try to drive as little as possible. I try to run errands on my way to or from work. I am trying to save money for the future so I can help my friends and family when the economy is shaken by future natural disasters. I am trying to learn more about this every day and I try to share my knowledge with friends and family, hoping they will also do some research about this and spread the word. I am trying to see this problem from different perspectives and I am trying to be more understanding of our governments. I think they are holding back information to prevent panic. Many poor people do not have access to the Internet and books and few opportunities to learn about this problem. I am starting to feel more grateful for what I have; because I may not always have the same luxuries in the future.

Celebrities that take the time to speak out about this problem give me hope that more people (who don't want to do the research themselves) will learn about this. Celebrities draw media, which educates the public. Hopefully more celebrities will speak out and use their fame and money to help slow down this problem.

Most actions i do save money at the same time.

Except one, i come to yahoo answers (and other places over the net) and i try to give reasons to american people to join the rest of the world fighting against climate change

it costs me time and i dont save any money at all

in Europe, celebrities don t tell anything about climate change, everybody here knows it is a fact since years ago, we don t talk about yes or no. Sometimes we share experiences, as any other activity we do. Sometimes, we say "what we do is not enough" , but i know most countries reduce emissions even more than kyoto targets, so in this particular field i cann t be too bad with politicians (but only in this particular issue LOL)

1- stopped eating beef
2- drive less (walk and bike more)
3- changed lights to CFL lights, and only turn on when needed
4- Buy only what i need, not just consume tons of junk that creates more demand to produce more which makes more waste and uses more energy and thus pollutes more
5- Reuse
6- Then Recycle
Don;t ever take bags from stores. Bring my own backpack or reuse plastic ones i have over and over and over and over. Heck, they last millions of years
7- quit a good job to get a masters degree in a field where I can have an impact on global warming...

Global warming is a myth. The earth is just going through a natural cycle. Leonard De Crapio is not a climatologist so why would you listen to him? Al Gore's movie on global warming is a piece of fiction too. Go ask people who actually know about these things.

None. And I don't think global warming is something we control - I think it's a natural cycle that the earth goes through.

p.s. Is that a tubular bell on your head? Lol
