I had bad anxiety for many years. To the point of feeling out of control, example, I felt weak and light headed standing in a bank line. Avoided crowds, restaurants, many public places. I listened to my doctor and took prescribed anxiety medication, saw a psychiatrist, which helped. However, I found exercise by: running, walking. swimming , and took up public speaking, which is the or close to #1 fear in humans. Take up a possible hobby you enjoy, example music, singing in a group or band. Meditation and faith in God, All of This helps, I believe eventually to relax ones nervous system and whole body, because you may be a highly energetic nervous person. There is no fast cure with anxiety, nervous depression, burnout, breakdown, or whatever you want to call it. One thing I recommend highly is to continue with what your doing, working or school. Never escape from the real world. Sticking with the same situation that brought this on, will eventually relieve you of same symptoms, trust this makes sense to you. Everybody experiences this nervousness, and the sad thing is that they don't deal with it as a long term project. So take the medication, exercise etc., It will disappear, or to some degree disappear, and it has no age discrimination, as it happens to young, middle and old age. Nobodies immune, as long as one is breathing and alive.

i agree it sounds like you have stress related IBS. although it could also be a food intolerance that is an underlying cause for the bowel movements which is then trigered by stress. I thought i had stress ibs but i now believe i have food intolerance i have changed my diet and i'm all but cured after 7 years of occupying the toliet. Also if it is stress trigered you might want to learn stress management exercises - such as deep breath, tai chi, yoga, pilates all good for de stressing!

It's the "fight or flight" theory. Our bodies are made to react to external stimulus to either fight back or run for cover (flight). When there is something that causes you to have anxiety your body starts producing chemicals that get you out of your normal state of feeling. In your case you get nausea/vomits/diarrea. Other people get really sweaty. Others get lightheaded. Others get the giggles. You can try to control it by focusing on something, or praying, or breathing techniques.

Your anxiety will cause your body to start to stress as well as your mind.

As always hormones and other chemicals will become unbalanced in a similar manner to if you were physically sick and thus your symptoms will occur.

its always a good idea to speak to a doc if it happens on a regular basis, even if its just a chat and a suggestion of how to relax.

Dont panic, it means your human!

I'm a nurse. You throw your body out of homeostasis (out of whack). For this reason your body reacts to how you are feeling. You need to see a doctor in order for medication, it will help you.
