Saw a show on PBS about hiking in the Yoho (?) Park. Would this be an awesome place to visit and hike? Anyone been there?

Absolutely!! The Canadian rockies are gorgeous, even more spectacular than the U.S. Rockies.

I have not been to that articular park, but I live in BC and have traveled BC and Alberta, and if you ever have a chance to come visit, hike, and enjoy this area, by all means do it!!

Canada is an awesome place, especially for nature lovers!

The Canadian Rockies consist mainly of Banff national park, Jasper national park, Yoho national park and Kootenay national park. All 4 are interconnected and while the first two lie in Alberta, the last 2 lie in BC. One of the best hikes I've been on is Lake Ohara in Yoko national park. To get there, you'll have to reserve a bus at least a month in advance but it's well worth the hassle.

I have done the rockwall which is a fairly famous hike through yoho and kooteny along a river basin. It is about a 60km hike and take 3-4 days. The scenery is breathtaking, however the terrain and weather in those parts can be very unpredictable, if you are an inexperienced hiker start off in banff with their trails are fairly well maintained.

there's a 4 lane expressway from Calgary to west of Banff. it truly is lower than a 2 hour force from Calgary to Banff. I easily have performed it in as low as 80 minutes even as i change into youthful. Canmore is even in the route of Calgary. you'll discover the Rockies from many places in Calgary. Many Calgarians make day journeys to Banff for wintry climate snowboarding.
