You are definitely not alone. I know exactly what you are talking about, but my frustration would be when my mom was letting me learn how to drive, and my foot was in the freaking air going from the gas to the break and she would holler Break! Geez! If she would have just given me a split second more, I mean a fraction of a second more, I would have applied the breaks and saved us all a lot of frustration. There is no way to win an unwinable battle, but there are ways to achieve a dignified retreat or draw, ok? Think rationally about the ham situation. Next time, sit a seat away from her, pass her your plate, and ask her politely to place another helping of ham on your plate. That way, there is no way she can misconstrue your actions and accuse you of trying to pull a fast one or of lying. It is important that you realize that she can't stand lying, so you can avoid that sort of behavior in the future. You should also just try to let her know what you really did or said in each situation when your feelings get hurt. Nothing beats open and honest communications in relationships, right? If she feels like she can trust you, as you get older you will see that she will be a truly valuable ally in life battle situations. Sometimes the best and most satisfying battles are not fought head-on, ok? Think about strategy here. Just follow your own heart, because you know and obviously love your mom very much. I have full confidence in your ability to find loving compromises in these sort of situations. Good luck!

I can't believe you are arguing over a stupid piece of ham. Should of just said to her, yeah, you're right, got 1 piece and sat down. Who cares who "wins". No one ever wins in any argument. All it does is create tension. Show her you are more mature by NOT arguing whether you are right or not if it's only over a misunderstanding or something this trivial(stupid). Besides, why didn't you just get up and get it w/out saying anything? For some obvious reasons she doesn't trust you. If you have lied about stuff in past, parents have a hard time believing you when you do tell the truth. you must gain her trust back and you are old enough to know how to do this. DON'T LIE.. Spend more time studying and your spelling and grammar will improve.

i stumble on that maximum every person isn't sufficiently severe and aggressive whilst debating a factor. The kindest and maximum well mannered thank you to answer an argument is to make up your own. That has the unlucky effect of proposing the audience or your readers with 2 lines of argumentation from which they might decide on... it is very vulnerable, rhetorically speaking. that could be a lot extra efficient to appeal to from the diagnosis of your opponent and furnish a synthetic argument. besides the undeniable fact that, it is likewise a lot harder. there are various positions from the main suitable that rests upon a rationalist attitude or economic fashions alongside with that of organic and suited opposition. tell me, how a lot of people be attentive to how those frameworks are outfitted, upon which assumptions they relax or what variety of epistemological positions they entail? very few... so, the debates you notice or study are not debates. they're simultaneous monologues the place 2 or extra people talk their concepts with out listening to what the different has to declare -- and, interior the tip, contributors of the audience possibilities the single they already agreed with. each and all of the above means is which you're a suited-winger, not that they are especially sturdy at debating -- and you could confirm my declare because of the fact that my pretension is that a leftist might experience the alternative.

Just drop it. It wasn't worth arguing over in the first place. In times like those, it is best to just go to another room and take a deep breath. The way you told your story was a bit confusing to say the least. Try to be less wordy, spell and grammar check for information. Good luck

Since you understand that it's a cycle, don't participate in it. You don't have to have the last word, even if you feel that your mom is wrong.
